  1. I've been in a balcony on Valor and just got off Liberty in an Ocean Suite. Personally, I don't think the suite was worth the premium. Yes, the extra space was nice with 3 people in the cabin, but we've decided to book an aft balcony on our next cruise when it's just DH and I. The suite balcony is wider, but I think the depth of the aft balcony will be better for enjoying the balcony.

  2. Just got back from a 3 day on Sunday. It was a nice break from reality and we enjoyed it. We only went to the Hasbro show, played cards in the library, and hung out on our balcony for the most part. We went with the 3 day as an "introductory" cruise for DH & DD. I will say I didn't see as many stumbling drunks as I would have expected based on posts here about the 3 day cruises being booze cruises. The 4 day I was on last year was definitely worse in that regard - but that may have been because it was Memorial Day Weekend.

  3. We were on Liberty 10/19 for a short 3 day to Nassau and it was fantastic other than the Muster issues I posted about that day. The first night, seas were very rough, but we managed to make the best of it. We had YTD and ended up with such fabulous service with Cristina the first night that we requested her the next two. She had great drink suggestions and remembered by daughter's choice of pop each night. All in all, the ship was in good condition, no complaints about our room (OS 7329). We honestly didn't do much on board and spent a lot of time on our balcony enjoying the peace as DH and I are not big on crowds and like our quiet time. DD had a lot of fun at Camp Ocean, but said the best stuff was going on after 10PM. We did the Lido buffet for breakfast on our port day and it was crowded but good. Guys burgers were amazing as always and I got DH & DD hooked and ready to cruise again. The only time we had a bad experience was at the Sea Day Brunch. I don't know if they put the new servers there or what, but our server was missing for long periods of time and missed parts of our order. He also sent the bar waiter over for our drink order when all we wanted was juices.

  4. It was a total cluster. Half the ship smelled of gas fumes and between the station I was in and the one next to it 3 people passed out. People started walking away halfway through. They tried directing every one into the MDRs to finish, but most people starting heading to their rooms.

  5. Now wouldn't that be better than what actually happened?

Is suicide better? That happens to some kids who are relentlessly bullied.

I have a 9 year old and we are sailing on Liberty later this week. She knows the rules - no running or climbing specifically - and understands the dangers. We also talked about this case and how important it is to not do something inherently dangerous.

  6. We are going this for our cruise in 2 weeks (Port Canaveral though) with an extra stop to see my mom. Our basic plan (and wouldn't change much if we weren't doing an overnight along the way) is to drive to McDonough, GA to avoid Atlanta traffic in the morning (weekday) the first day and finish the drive on day 2. We're leaving by 10 AM to start the drive, so we will miss rush hour in Indy and Louisville, but might hit Nashville at rush hour. Normally, we would drive to Port Canaveral the next day, but we're stopping to spend a day with my mom. The most important thing to me though is avoiding Atlanta at rush hour. We've done similar trips several times - and once detoured through Alabama to attempt missing Atlanta and mountains but I don't recommend that.
