  1. We just got off Of the Seaside yesterday. I had a bottle of wine in my carry-on bag which went through the scanning machine. The person watching the monitor saw that it was a bottle of wine stopped the conveyor and turned to her associate to ask about the bottle. The answer from her associate was not with this Cruise Line.

Apparently, the person watching the monitor is used to dealing with NCL or some of the cruise lines that do not allow wine to be brought on board. We went through the security check around 1:30 p.m. I can't believe my bag was the first one that had a bottle of wine in it. Almost everyone now has the drink package Which MSC is offering, i.e.drinks on us.

I guess that has practically brought to an end sneaking alcohol or wine on board.

    Have a great Cruise!:halo:

So does MSC allow carry on wine or not.

  2. would like info please,

cruise ship tour for the Tropicana show, or do tour on our own?

    Thank you

    Carol skipbrandy

Just go to the Tropicana’s website and book your tickets yourself and take a taxi - it’s less than half the cruise ship price. Just be sure to arrange your taxi to pick you back up at the end of the night. I think we paid $20/to get there in a cool classic car that we picked up right at the dock.

  3. All,

I booked my cruise several months ago on the Seaside for the June 9th cruise. At that time they gave me the 12 drink vouchers. Now the are giving the Drinks on us package. Can I get the drink package or am I stuck with the vouchers?

    Thanks....

  4. Has anyone with celiacs disease traveled on the Seaside yet? We are a family of 3, each with celiac disease. How are the gluten free options. We have traveled on NCL and Disney with no issues. It may be still to early to ask. We are scheduled to go early June.

    Thanks,

    Todd

  5. We leave 10/5 and I'm more than ready. I think it's confined to the embassy, if something does in fact exist. There has been nothing of anyone on the streets being effected by this sonic mystery. Not even a hint in cruise summaries on CC. It's our only port of call so if Carnival wants to go to some other port, I want my money back.

    FYI,

Here is an update from NCL.

Norwegian Cruise Line’s cruises to Havana continue to operate as scheduled. The safety and security of our guests and crew is always our first priority and we continue to maintain the highest security standards as we do in all ports of call.

There have been no reported incidents involving tourists or other cruise ship passengers. Reported incidents have been isolated to diplomats and government officials residing on the island. Our shore excursions and tour locations have been thoroughly evaluated and none are military owned or operated. The visa issuing process for our guests remains unchanged.

We continue to believe that the best way to travel to Cuba is via cruise ship and look forward to continuing to offer our guests the opportunity to explore Cuba’s beauty, culture and friendly people.

  6. I leave Sat. for alaska... I did just read about food issues on the ncl web site. Ugh, You can notify them ahead of time. Not sure what that will do unless they stock specific items? I will work around it as usual, but, next cruise I probably will plan ahead and see.

I don't think you will have problems. We have been on many NCL ships. They should have lots of GF options. I was only asking about the specialty restaurants on the Sky as we have not eaten at those yet. Even if you don't see it on the menu ask them the day before if they can make it for you. On the getaway they made us GF chocolate soufflé. We had to ask the day before.

  7. Has anyone with celiacs disease traveled on the Sky? We are going in October. We have traveled with NCL on the Getaway and the Breakaway without issues. I'm wondering if the paid restraints on the Sky will be able to handle the GF issues like the big ships did?

  8. Trying to plan my time in Cuba on the second day. How can I find the all aboard time for the second day in Havana? Itinerary says ship departs at noon. However, I see 4 hour shore excursions that start at 8AM. I plan to do my own thing but wanted to know what time all aboard is?
