Or, having booked a guarantee, they could have avoided all the stress and anxiety by not obsessing over it.
Or you could just not comment on a thread that seems to bother you. Excuse me for breathing.

my bold...
So that means you got your assignment? Now you can relax on that. Go have a grand time! m--
We will. Thanks for all the support from everyone :)

Welp... we're in an SS suite, we were guaranteed an SZ. Not sure if there's much of a difference but at least I know where we'll be living for 17 days

So Oct 1 departure... looks like maybe you are going on the the Grand Asia cruise, or part of it? Nice! But multiple segment itineraries are more complicated. That means they have a lot shuffling to do for upsells, upgrades and work it out so that people on more than one segment don't have to change rooms.
That's a very nice itinerary, we looked at it but opted for Europe instead this year. I doubt you'll find that type of itinerary on Celebrity.
Plus, HAL has already given you OBC and an upgrade from a balcony to a Signature suite, nice and very nice. It seems they are taking good care of you. Your patience will pay off. And you''ll have a Grand cruise in a special room. We hope you will be able to check in here and let us know how it's going. m--
We're heading west to Hawaii... :D:cool:

And we wait... And wait... And wait...:ship:

Because there are unassigned cabins, but presumably an equal number of unassigned guarantee cabins available. They try to sell people an upgrade before giving it away free to a guarantee.
I think my cruise is sold out. Hasn't shown up as an available cruise to book in over a week.

Thinking of you! Any update?
7 days out and I'm like Jon Snow... I know nothing :p
-
9 days out... still waiting.

As a solo traveller, I normally travel inside cabin. Doing a 25 night Hawaain cruise in January and have burst the bank for a balcony! Beyond excited!
Awesome! Have fun! Hawaii is a blast. Go to Cheeseburger in Paradise on Maui, Lahaina. HUGE burgers and the best Pina Colada's anywhere. :D

Congratulations on your celebration cruise! I'm sorry your are frustrated with HAL before the cruise begins, even to the point of saying it's the last time you'll book them, but fingers crossed for you for a nice cabin assignment and a cruise of good memories together. Maybe HAL will go up a notch in your opinion with a good vacation experience in at least a Signature suite.
I'm sure you'll be checking for your cabin number daily, and we'll all be checking here to see how it turns out! m--
It will be our 2nd cruise with HAL, the first one was OK. But compared to Celebrity, they don't compare on the service end of things. And then after the price drop that happened, and the attitude I got from them, I already said I won't cruise with them again. I'll enjoy this one, to be sure, but I'm going back to Celebrity. I will update once I know our cabin assignment. Still waiting...

This might cheer you up. We bought a balcony gty cabin on a Carnival ship three days prior to sailing. When we checked, there were only two balcony cabins available. Both were OK, not perfect spots but acceptable. We were happy just to get on the ship for the price we paid.
This was our expectation. So much so that we hardly paid attention to the subsequent assignment the next day. We do carry on only so there was no need to fill out any bag tags at the port.
Finished the formalities, boarded, and headed to our cabin. MUCH to our surprise we had been upgraded to the primo balcony cabin. Mid ships, high up, one floor from the pool and bar, quiet sundeck area just a few steps down the hall. I can only assume the previous assignee got upgraded to a suite at the last minute.
We often do late booking gtys. You just never know. Have patience, remain hopeful, and the very best of luck to you!
If you do not get upgraded it will still be a fabulous cruise.
Gotta love surprises. We're looking forward to it to be sure. It leaves on our first wedding anniversary.

We are four days from cruising and still no cabin. We have received two upgrade offers. The first was from inside to outside for $129 each. The second was for the exact same upgrade for $79. Fortunately we said no the first time. We have also declined the second offer. The categories they offered were in the bowels of the ship and far forward. We might still get assigned those cabins but we won't have paid extra. Don't like not knowing but we rolled the dice and will have to wait.

I'm at a loss as to why they have to wait so long. We started with a basic verandah cabin, then the price dropped, by like $3000. So I demanded something. We ended up with cruise credits & now a signature suite, but as a guarantee. I used to know what cabin we were in, but now we wait... 11 days out and nothing. And for you, 4 days out is stupid. This will be our last cruise with HAL. Going back to Celebrity.

OK, if that happens, that's what I'll do. Thanks for the info. Fingers crossed, I get it soon. I tried the tip of printing 1 luggage tag to try and make it happen. :D
-
So, should we leave our luggage even if we don't have our cabin number on our luggage tags? They have our name... I guess they'll find us eventually. ;p
We're already in a signature suite, so maybe we'll get bumped up to a pinnacle suite! lol

I only ever get a verandah cabin, doesn't matter for which sailing or length. I'd go crazy sitting inside all the time or always having to be on the outer decks.
-
They could at least send it out via email. Save a tree and all. And that wouldn't cost anything for them. I've only been on one HAL cruise and we enjoyed the log at the end.

Can someone explain to me how the cabin assignments work on guaranteed cabins?
Our cruise leaves in 12 days and still nothing. Is anyone else waiting for cabin assignments on HAL for cruises leaving October 1st or earlier?
Thanks.:)

Just returned from a cruise on the Eurodam, no log provided.
This will be my last cruise with HAL. The food was atrociously bad. The service was quite good.
