  1. Since I last cruised I've quit drinking and am looking for a new avenue of entertainment for my New Years cruise.  My wife likes playing slots but I don't care for them so I am looking at learning a table game before I go.  From the time I've browsed through the casino most of them seem different than traditional games.  What would be your suggestion of something to learn that I can get good entertainment value per dollar.  Of course I am not expecting to win money, just able to stretch it the best for entertainment value.  Most ships I've been on the roulette table has been dead but open there as well.

  2. Mahogany Bay is easy, Daniel Johnson's. We did the reserve tour plus island tour and have zero regrets.  Not a lot to see on the island but for the first time don't regret it.  We did it in 2019 and have tried three times to go back so we can take our daughter.   COVID cancelled all of them.  We have one scheduled in December and will only be doing the reserve tour as I want to try out the beach side of Mahogany Bay.

In Belize we did the a boat tour and it was OK.  If I go back I really have no intention of getting off the ship.  I'd like to do a cave tubing excursion but don't want to sit on a bus for three hours on top of the extremely long tender ride.  Not a port I want to go back too.

  3. Pretty odd question and am hoping you guys can give some guidance on how it would work out.  Me and my wife have cruised a lot together and all the bookings have been booked under her.  We have recently separated.  There is a group cruise I am wanting to go on next year.  If I book it the cost will be $1100 for a single.  She has a casino offer that would put it at $500.  If it's booked under her and she "no shows" would anything negative happen?  I am not concerned with DOU or OBC, just the cost of the cruise.  Thanks for the help.

  4. For us it is.  The Australian Wagyu is a darn good steak.  Sides are great and it's enough food you'll be stuffed.  As it should be for the cost it's a substantial upgrade over the MDR.  For a comparable meal on land you aren't going to come close for the price.  Of course you have to take away whatever you value the MDR cost at as well.  It's certainly a splurge but we find it worth the cost.

  5. I've decided I'm not destined to be on this ship.  First cruise I ever book in 2018 was on the Paradise.  They did a massive itinerary change so moved to a different ship.  Had two more cancelled during the shutdown.  Been on the Elation three times so I know I'd enjoy but seems every time we book something happens, just bad luck.  Still may try again on day for a cheap trip to Mahogany Bay.

  6. I love Carnival but this is one thing that really aggravates me.  I don't like that kids have to go to the bars to get soft drinks and it makes the bartenders even busier.  Drink stations would allow kids a more appropriate place to get drinks and adults would get served quicker at bars. My guess is they don't do it because they are afraid or waste costing them money.

  7. We do it the first night because there really isn't a dress code.  We do the formal nights in the MDR and don't want to dress up three times in a week. You cannot order additional food.  You get bread, soup or salad, an app, main course with two sides and desert.  You can swap out your soup/salad for an additional app.  Believe me, you won't be leaving hungry!

  8. The mobile site is being difficult at best so I’m not sure how well this will go. Had to beak out the iPad to get a reply.  Walmart was a complete bust, spent 30 minutes waiting on an employee to say they don’t have any. Off to Target and smooth sailing there, in and out in ten minutes. We are now hanging out in the parking garage waiting on 1030 to roll around. Liberty is here as well with its new pain job.  Busy port day with the Disney Fantasy, MSC Divina and an RCL Oasis class as well.

If you're not causing any problems and aren't being loud or acting a fool, some bartenders will look the other way if a friend buys a drink with their cheers and gives it to you. I met a guy on my last cruise who drank like a fish but also spread them out during the day. At night after he hit 15, a bartender would let me use my cheers and get him a few drinks. He wasn't stumbling, loud, knocking stuff over, etc.

    I’ve been that friend lol.

  10. Nachos were extremely forgettable.  Fish tacos were really good, my daughter raved over the Mac and cheese and my wife was happy with her steak. Grabbed a six pack on the way to the hotel.  Settled in for the night and ready to cruise.

NCL still hadn’t sailed at five when we left dinner, heard some issues with on site testing getting help up.  As we were pulling out the tug boats we’re heading it’s way.
