We saw the sound and Light show a couple of weeks ago. One of the folks we knew made the comment that they expected a Disney quality and it did not measure up to that standard. Omar Sharif is the narrator. The light is projected and follows the narration whcih gives a history of the pyramids and the Sphinx. There is an extra charge for using a video camera if you want to record it.

All that being said, it was a good show and if I saw it again I would try to sit closer to the front so as not to have so many distractions like stupid flashes from photos being tried (the distance to the objects being photographed is way out of flash range).

We returned last week from a two day tour of Cairo and Alexander with Ramses. Couldn't agree more with the other folks about Ramses. We had a great time with Mustafa our guide and Maggot our driver. These guys were the ultimate in professional tour guides as far as we were concerned.

We got picked up in Port Said and stayed overnight at the Fairmont, Nile City in Cairo. Very nice accomodations but you did have to watch out in the shower since the floors were all marble and their wasn't a shower mat in the shower. I wouldn't bother with a room with a view because you aren't there long enough to see anything from the room.

We got quite a history lesson from all the facts and stories that we heard from Mustafa and appreciate his patience with our endless questions.
