  1. Does anyone know when a traveler returning from Europe through Amsterdam goes through customs? Is it in Amsterdam or at the airport in U.S.? concerned about connection times if in Amsterdam. Thanks.

  2. We have the same itinerary (different dates) and booked our extension, transfers & flights through Viking. So, our flight info should help you.

We fly out of Zurich at 9:20 am. We change planes in Amsterdam, then on to U.S. Good luck!

  3. Looking at Viking's web-site:

    Pay by echeck and Save

    • You may use echeck to pay for your Viking cruise or cruisetour, and for airfare.
    • Every dollar paid for cruise, air, taxes, fees or surcharges can be paid by echeck, including regular-priced itineraries and airfare, any special offers or Viking Air Plus services
    • There is no fee for this service
    • If you pay by echeck, you can receive a savings on your travel costs. Ask for details at time of booking.

Please note: echecks must be drawn against a US bank account; echecks from money market accounts are not permitted. If you are traveling within 21 days, echeck payments cannot be accepted and cannot be made by third parties (someone not traveling).

Other restrictions may apply; call 866-984-5464 for details.

Enjoy the convenience of paying for your trip by echeck (also known as EFT or electronic funds transfer).

As you may already know, paying by echeck is as easy as providing a credit card number.

You may make payments by echeck in My Viking Journey.

    Has anyone used this?

Yes and it was easy. We figured the discount was a bigger benefit than the rewards in our card.

  4. I sent an email to tellus@vikingcruises.com and received a similar reply, totally missed the point suggesting we could still eat in the main dining room...duh. They did however say they were “gathering feedback about this change”.

Thank you for providing the email link. I was able to easily express my opinion. I hope it gets read and considered!

  5. I hope Manfredi’s is not on our Rhine cruise in September. The Aquavit Terrace sounds like a more appealing option. That said, I hope they feature foods from the regions through which we are traveling. I think that would enhance the trip. We can get good Italian food in our home town (or even at home). I hope they re-think this.

  6. This may not be what you’re after, but having just paid my Viking bar bill a couple weeks ago, a house red wine was € 4.50 and Maker’s Mark on the rocks was € 7.00 [emoji3]

I thought house wine was included with lunch & dinner. Is this charge because it was ordered other than at meals? Or am I mistaken? Thanks.
