Im going on Island Princess 8/25 in my first suite (special treat to me) since I usually dont book above a mini-suite the above posters said you get specialty dining on embarkation day.  How do you book this in advance?  When I go on the Princess app to book it tries charging me.

 I was hoping they were going to upgrade us in the end but while the bids haven’t been denied officially yet our cruise leaves tomorrow in Sydney. Still going to have a great cruise but a little disappointed that a counter offer email that we agreed to didn’t result in the upgrade. Worse things can happen just adding my 2 cents.

I got a counter offer for our cruise on 2/18 from sydney. We accepted the counter offer Wednesday (an hour after email came in) but so far haven’t seen any update on this. I haven’t had this counter offer before but is this normal for it to go this long?

Im on the same cruise! Im ok going to belize and mahogany bay since I haven’t done those two ports but I wish they would make the change. I get its complicated reshuffling the schedule but it seems other cruise lines did their schedule reshuffle further out. Not a big deal I guess in the end given the price I paid (Casino offer) I’m ok with wherever. It beats going to work! Hopefully this week they will update since i think next weekend a ship from Miami has a cruise to GC on its itinerary.

I went looking at the dec cruises for vista in galveston and that seems likely. While GC is my first choice im ok doing that other route belize and mahogany bay are one of the few Caribbean ports I haven’t been to. 

I actually just went and jumped on a vista cruise out of galveston after a great casino offer on the price. The cruise is a ochos rios, cozumel, GRand cayman cruise. What have they been replacing GC with? Surely it wouldnt be 2 jamaica stops?

Im staying at that double tree before my cruise on the majestic sailing on sept 12. I wanted to mention there’s a testing service at the hotel called discovery health md. Its not cheap but its an option for people that might need it. They have rapid antigen testing and can book appointments pretty far out. Im actually using it for my party since were leaving 4 days in advance of cruise. This was the easiest option (but not cheapest) for our party. I dont really trust pcr to get back in time so would rather do it this way.  Have a great trip!

Ok so like everyone here I’ve been scrambling to adjust my plans.  My cruise is on Sept 12 out of seattle.  I confirmed with princess via chat and then phone that it is 3 days NOT 72 hours so for me anytime on Thursday Sept 9th is acceptable.  Im actually going up a few days in advance so would need to be tested in Seattle not here in Texas.  Next, I found a place https://discoveryhealthmd.com to get the testing done. They have rapid antigen testing (which is acceptable from everything ive heard and read) and rapid pcr testing.  I actually called the doubletree south center to make sure and the hotel did verify they do testing in the back of hotel.  Ive already set appointments for my party.  I wont say its cheap, and for some they might have better options but if your looking for a place in seattle, this is what I’ve found so far.  Free cancellation of appointment outside of 24 hours according to their faq. I wont say I’m pleased about these changes but at least once were on the boat I can feel like this will be as safe a cruise as you can make it.  Ive been traveling pretty much non stop during pandemic so while this is unwelcome its not a giant surprise for me. I will still enjoy the scenery from my balcony just fine.

Wish i knew what went wrong on my other orders. Emailed the gift card support and they couldn't figure out why the order wouldnt go through. 2nd verification Didn't work. Whats crazy is i got it to work once and did nothing different. I gave up, i have a bunch of bounce back charges that will drop off after weekend (verified by both card and site). At this point i’m too wary of trying anymore

Well i was able to buy 1k in gift cards (2 x 500).  When i attempted to buy more princess denied the transaction (not my card i checked). Repeated questions wont tell me why one charge went through but not others. Looks like they are onto it. I actually tried 2k at first before the 1k and it wouldn’t let me. O well i still got something out of it. Stinks i cant get more promo gift cards out of it. My final payment is in 2 weeks so the timing would have been perfect. 

They must be rolling out this updated procedure now i just booked steakhouse a couple weeks ago For magic for october cruise and it didnt require prepay had to correspond via email with restaurant. Now however it requires prepay on the website.

I was wondering the same thing. I think its further south from storm on the cleaner side.  “ Cruise line private islands that are located near Cat Island are Half Moon Cay and Princess Cays and were not affected by the storm.” Feel bad for those poor people in bahamas, Texas is no stranger to storms.  This from a cruise news website.

Hey everyone i couldnt find if this has already been talked about before but does anyone know when the encore’s october 2020 schedule gets released?  I’m hoping its still going to bermuda from nyc that month. I would love to take a cruise to bermuda and october has always been a good travel month work wise for me.  Looking at ncl website has a big blank spot for sept-oct 2020.  Thanks for any info!

Doesnt NCL have a private port in central america i think its called harvest caye. It would be great to get another line in galveston. While ive never done ncl more competition could only be good for us right?

I would do a tour the area around amber cove left a lot to be desired. I ended doing an atv ride through the country and beach and loved it. Even loved the open air truck through the countryside. I just didnt see much to be impressed by at or near port though.

Thanks for all the info they seem like great islands but honestly some islands are better off exploring on your own and some doing an excursion just makes it better. I appreciate the info! Thats what i felt about amber cove. It was a fun stop but outside the port area i wouldnt want to walk around on my own by myself, also there is nothing nearby to do.

Thanks for all the info. It will pretty much be the beach and then sail snorkeling, maybe atv on one of the islands. From what ive read so far a lot of people seem to go for spending aruba on the beach. Funny that you mention that excursion on catamaran to nevis as i was thinking of looking into that one. Cant wait to go on this cruise. So many choices, its a good problem to have!

Howdy everyone so i have a cruise late this year out of san juan on the freedom of the seas on dec 2nd. The cruise will go to willemstad curacao, oranjestad aruba, st. Kitts, and st thomas. A little background i used to do a lot of cruises with family when i was young now that i have a career and can afford it im starting to take more trips on my own. With all this in mind it has been ages since i went to these islands. What islands does everyone recommend an excursion on and which one is good to enjoy the beach and local area? I dont think i will end up doing an excursion at all 4 ports more than likely only half of them. I went on a carnival cruise last year to amber cove and that was definitely an excursion stop(with not much to do around the port). Anyways thanks for reading this far and any advice!:D

Howdy Everyone,I’m sure this has been answered but it looks like my other party member may not make it for the cruise. He had something last second come up. My question is since the cruise is this sunday the only thing he can get back is the gratuity right? Also, im already checked in but if i show up for the cruise and hes not there will that impact my cruise? Will this cause problems for me getting on the boat? Just want to make sure.
