  1. Thats great the illusive bag has returned MB , Its 6am my body clock has not adjusted yet and ive got the first lot of washing in lol. When i ate in the Quays a couple of times i tried the Katsu chicken Curry and the Thai green Prawn curry. The Katsu is Breaded Chicken slices over rice with a mild curry sauce on top. It crossed my mind to ask if i coulld mix and match i.e Prawns instead of Chicken and they will do that for you. Just letting you know. We were on Deck 15 and any rooms between 15500 and 15400 had the noise from the dome in the evening BUT luckily lthis only seemed to be an issue upto 11.30pm. Worth taking earplugs and the cabin steward will get you some if you ask him. Well ours did.
  2. Have a great time MB. We disembarked at 10.05 a bit of a queue getting out through customs. Lots of people moaning about not enough trolleys only 15 mins to get cases and get outside. Home now the garden is a forrest and the birds needed feeding. Brought some good weather home.
  3. Captain just been on 50mph winds tomorrow and 5 metre swell so may be a cinema or duvet day looking better saturday. His thought for today is if at first you dont succeed then Skydiving is not for you. Haha
  4. So Cadiz was nice 25c got a map before leaving port which helps photo attached. The easiest way to get to the cathedral and old town is to turn left off ship walk about 400yds and Burger King is across the road. Follow that road and it is the easiest way to get to the cathedral and old town.. Just a heads up on drinks pricing. You are charged an additional 10% on drinks while in spanish ports this also means if your still in port at Dinner time you will be paying 10%extra for your bottles of wine beers. This may also apply to soft drinks but not sure. Thats all folks.
  5. At sea yesterday 25c and smooth sea. I went to reception and they confirmed you could not book any meals in MDRS after 6.30 you just have to join virtual queue when on board. Saw the Headliners Take That tribute band show last night. For me the last 20 mins were the best part of the performance. Not one of their best shows. Good singers but dodgy storyline. Just a heads up particularly for Megabear. Bring cough and cold remedies. Its bern like Freshers week at uni on here with more coughing and sneezing as the two weeks progressed. Sorry if that's a bit negative but both of us have contracted it onboard but it hasnt spoiled our cruise just a niggle. Last port in Cadiz today so if i get chance i will let you know how it goes. Its a port we really like. We then have to days at sea before home on Sunday.
  6. Ok so we got free shuttle bus no charge even for saver fare to Barcelona. Queue in 2 lines but cleared in 5mins like clockwork. From where we got off we turned right and followed marina and beaches to Port olympic which took 40 mins had a capuccino and small draught beer for 9 euro. Two newzealanders paid 27 euro on las ramblas for 2 beers. No prices displayed A nice walk on a nice day but 15000 steps so im cream crackered. Just having another Birra moretti now. Its a hard life
  7. A little celebration gift was left in a gift bag in our room yesterday. 2 gin and tonic and two packs of strawberry popcorn. Nice gesture
  8. Didnt get off in Marseiile yesterday as it was Victory in Europe day bank hol. Places said to be busy, courtesy bus queues ok after 11.30 from what we could see. Nice to be on a less crowded ship to relax. In barcelona today so will get the chargeable courtesy bus as i think too far to walk. Saw the Privateers last night in main theatre. They were good. Here are the main dining room and olive grove menus for last night.
  9. The places marked on map recomended by tourist info guy.
  10. The houses pic was Manarola. Beach etc was Monterosso.
  11. So we are in la spezia today doing our own thing. Visited a couple of villages. Bought a one day train ticket for 5 villages return for 18.20 euro each. These places and stations are rammed busy but the scenery at Monterosso al mare alone was worth it. Its about a 25 min walk from drop off point to station in la spezia or 20 euro by taxi. You really do need your mobility to visit these places.
  12. Had a stunning sea day yesterday. Cloudless sky, flat sea. They really made an effort with bunting and a special royal quiz in brodies last night, a great party atmosphere. The menu was nice, i had the roasted garlic beef. A bit like beef wellington without pastry.
  13. Ready for the Kings Coronation👑 Tonights menu.
  14. Forgot to mention going through Gibraltar straits at 1pm yesterday saw pods of porpoises or dolphins must have been more than 50. Most were baby ones.
  15. We have been at sea for last 2 days. First day off portugal rain most of the day so watched elvis movie. Very good. Only 50 seats in cinema so count how many in queue if going to watch about 30 people queued but didnt get in. We have eaten the last 2 nights in Olive Grove. First night was Celebtstion night i had the yellow fin tuna with caviar as a starter and fillet steak for main course. Very nice. Last night it was the greek mezze starter, then tuna steak for main. Both nights took over 2hrs to get finished. In at 6pm out at aroynd 8.10. Saw ODY. C show 2 last night which was good and josh Adams comedian, same jokes but still made us laugh. Dont mention manu game. The queue for the meridien at 5.45 last night was 20yds past olive grove and we thought it was for our restaurant. It was moving ok though. Tuna starter pic and anyone want to blow onboard spend on a double whiskey lol. A few pods of
  16. Forgot to say going though Gibraltar straits at 1pm yesterday we saw several pods of porpoise or dolphins at least 50 mostly baby ones but mrs t loved seeing them on the starboard sunny side of ship.

  18. Sample menu tonight for Zenith, Meridien and olive grove.
  19. Just been around la coruna. Turned right off ship that a nice walk to small castle. If you go left off ship then nice pavement cafes and a 20 min walk to beach. Go straight off ship and across road and parallel streets for shopping. Time to sunbathe. Plenty of sunbeds at 1pm
  20. Well done forward booking mb. We have one booking for zenith. Apparently they have tablecloths. Just queued 10 mins for shared table in meridian for breakfast. Good food and service at 9am.
  21. We got to the port at 2.30 and managed to get checked in ans on board in 20 mins. People who were early were being held in a seperate queue and fed in when gaps available. Ship is very busy we booked meridien and olive grove 14 days before departure but could only get times between 5.30 and 6pm. Food on 2 nights in meridien has been nice better than on azura better quality imo. Didnt get tickets for Gary Barlow but people who did enjoyed show. Room on deck 15 seems a bit cramped inside cabin, bathroom tiny, but shower ok. Saw comedy juggler in theatre 2 nights ago he was good and a light and sound display in dome last night which was good but we could here the last show in our room which is below dome. If you are in these rooms then probably dont go to bed before 11pm. In la coruna today and forecast 27c lovely. First impression is ship overcrowded but will probably get used to it. Off for breakfast shortly. The horizon buffet at 10am yesterday was truly awful, to busy abd limited choice. Queue for meridien at 5.45 but only took 10 mins to get seated
  22. You should find it very enjoyable with so many didning options to choose from. If you find the comedians tedious then dont stick around find another bar or maybe a live music event in the dome. The Lazer show in the dome was fantastic not to be missed. Enjoy and take plenty of money because a coffee in some of the ports like stavanger can cost $10+ for a basic coffee and food isnt cheap either.
  23. Perhaps that what the kids on Arvia were having😄
