  1. We will be arriving in Miami one day before we sail and staying at the Marriott Biscayne Bay. What is the best way to get to get from the airport to the hotel and to the port from the hotel. I understand that the hotel does not have transportation to the port or from the airport. The last time we cruised we used carnival transportation to ge to the port becasue we few in the same day. With the airline delays and cancellations we did'nt want to take the chance of not being able to get to the port in time. Also how do you put money on your sail and sign card we have always done that at the airport. Any suggetions would be appreciated.

  2. Wildra, I am so glad that I ran across another of your wonderful reviews. Your photos of the island were simply beautiful and the food made me hungry all day. We are doing a family cruise on the Horizon in April 2024. The only difference is that we are going to LaRomana and Amber Cove. I know that you have been on a number of cruises have you ever done these two islands? If so what can you tell me about them .Also have you ever had a Cruise Director name Leon Smith on any of your cruises. The two cruises that I have gone on were with Matt Mitcham who was a bast.I also appreciate that you gave information on the tours that you took which gives me an idea of what we can do. Keep up the good work looking forward to your next review.

  3. Need suggestion for a one night stay in a nice hotel near the port, that will provide a ride to the port. Would also like to know if Carnival provides one way transportation from the port to the airport on return from cruise.  We have normallly taken an early morning flight and have always arrive by 8 am, and used round trip trasportation with Carnival from the airport to the port and from the port to the airport. Since we will be arriving a day early I wasn't sure how it woild work since we are not drving. This is a family cruise of 10 and we did'nt want to risk flying out the same day since there are no longer non stop flights from our area. With the airlines  having delays and cancellations.

  4. OMG! Willdra I just love your reviews. I am new to CC and every since I read your review of the Vista, which I will be on in September I had to go and find all your other reviews. It makes me feel like I am right there on vacation with you.

Your family sounds like so much fun, it so much reminds me of my family.

I wish you were on my cruise in September. Can't wait for the rest of this entertaining review.

  5. Hi Willdra, I am so glad that I ran across your review of the Vista. After reading so many negative reviews I was wondering if I had made a bad choice on choosing the Vista since I will be traveling with my family of eight Set 8, 2019 some who have never cruised before, and this will only be my second cruise. I must say that I truly enjoyed your review, it was funny, entertaining and very informative. I now cannot wait to see all that it has to offer. Thank you again for such a wonderful review, I now do not have any reservation about going. You have a real talent of keeping the readers attention. I will be sure to check out your other reviews. Keep up the good work.

  7. Hi All

Just a silly question. This will be my second cruise and I cannot remember when do you put your luggage tags on for the ship. I think when we went in 2016 that we put them on at the airport but by the time we got to port the tags were torn off so luckily, I had printed a second copy and put it on at port. What is the correct way to do this? Since there will be three new cruisers with us we want to make sure we inform them the correct way.

    Thanks

  8. I am new to cruising and went on my first one in 2016 to celebrate my nephew's 50th birthday. Since is wife went through a TA I decided to use the same one for a family cruise in September of this year. When I went into her office to make the arrangements she did all of our bookings and we all paid our deposits. One month later when we all sent in our next payment she informed us that there was a price reduction on the cabins that we had selected and that there was an OBC being offered of $50.00. She took it upon herself to give us all the price reductions and the OBC. no sure if she is out of any money or commission, but we are all glad that she did this and we never asked. So I guess if you have a really good TA that goes above and beyond to keep you as a customer, do you think we should give her a tip? Since we never asked for a price reduction or the OBC. My point is that I think she is one that just takes care of her customers in a fair way. We would have never known had she not informed us. Also since there are a few in the group that are first time cruisers she prepared folders with all the helpful information of what to pack , passport information, boarding pass info, transfer info to the port, things to do at each port ect. which will be very helpful to the first timers. My observation is that she is just a good TA that provides excellent customer services. When we are done cruising we have all planned to send her a nice gift, which I am sure she will appreciate more than a tip.

  9. Hi and welcome to Cruise Critic. I am new also to Cruise Critic. I went on my first cruise last year and now I am hooked. When I went last year it was with family members on my husband side that had done all the planning so all we had to do was say yes and pay our money. So this year I am planning a cruise for next year for my family members which will be a total of 8 of us, I did not have a TA so I went to my local auto club which has travel info and got all the brochures of where we wanted to cruise. We decided to go to the Caribbean, on the Vista, I then did some searching on the internet for TA and found one that was close to my home checked them out with the BBB and found that they had an A+ rating with no complaints called them and made all the arrangements for our cruise in Sept. Our TA even included our airfare, and transportation to the port. She also found that since we booked in Sept the price had been reduce so we were able to get an even better deal. So to sum it up you may want to look into this as an option.

Hope you have a wonderful cruise. Alaska is my next stop.

  10. Hi there! We tried to change our cabin for deck 2 but it was all booked. Our travel agent is going to keep an eye out if there are any cancellations. Since there are 8 of us going we all wanted to be close together and they only had two rooms left. I did find out that the Liquid Lounge is above us if that is any help. Don't how long it is open but we never get back to our room until late so I don't think that will be an issue for us. Hope this helped.
