  1. Twas the day of the sailing and all through the ship

The passengers were scurrying to find the right slip.

The crew were all standing in front of the boats

And, Wait a minute..it’s Revneal with two white coats.

The pax were lined up for roll call you see

And when their names called they answered with glee.

Here Vicar, Here KK, Here Orcrone and Sail7Sea

Uh oh what’s that you say..she’s not here to be?

Oh she’s resting her self from her Maasdam spree.

Here Cactus Lady, let’s get on with the show.

The ship she’s awaiting for the Captain to blow

The big horn and push from the row

Of piers and halyards cast off from below.

The pax all rested on deck now flying at sea

Out by the pool lies Superstein with the

Blender a running and making a brew

With ice, rum and good old Mountain Dew.

The peta people are here in a force

To protect those poor skeets from total remorse.

A protected species those skeets they cry

As more and more the skeets they do fly

It’s now time for the ladies to man the gun

Exalthim is vying to be the best one.

If your name was not called don’t get in a snit

This one finger typing is aching to quit.

Goodbye one and all and to all a good night.

May your cruises be merry and your trips a delight

From one who’s a leaving with a sailing in sight.

  2. Good Advice! However the people on either wide are vacationing as well. And besides, DW says I look lilke Dr. Lector from the movie "Silence of the Lambs" when I have my apnea mask on and I certainly don't want to scare anybody to death. Not a pretty sight.

And so it goes..having to sleep in the hall with no power outlets to electrify the apnea machine means renting a diesel powered electrical generator (do you suppose the noise will disturb the neighbors?), and no bath room means renting one of them little porta potties (like you see at the Nascar events..really nasty) and etc.

Folks, it's really been fun participating in the banter on this thread. However, it's time to start packing for a grand time of our lives...Sailing on the Westerdam out of Harwich Friday. Bon voyage, ta ta, farewell, adios.

    Now where's that power cord?

  3. Help!!! I am running out of room. Thus far my accumulation is a 3 cylinder diesel powered weed eater, a 3 cylinder lightweight diesel powered chain saw with boring attachment, a well, a number 1 wash tub with scrub board (and I forgot to mention the homemade lye soap requiring a tub of lard and potash to make it), a double barrel Civil War cannon, all to be placed on a 41 square ft. verandah. This morning DW reminded me that I have to take my sleep apnea machine and I replied nooooo problem. WRONG!! This little jewel requires distilled water and I have doubts that HAL is got this stuff in the stores...ssooo you know what this means. By the time I crowd the still in the room I have it figured out...We sleep in the hall on the floor.

  4. Thanks for the input about getting thru ATL airport screeners. Got a better deal. Since this cannon has a significant historical value and after communicating with the officials there they jumped overboard at the idea of this relic being displayed on a cruise ship in international waters. They are going to provide the necessary crating materials and shipment to the ship. Of course, and unbeknownst to them, there is skullduggery going on here inasamuch as this dbl barrel gun is going to be used for skeet shooting.

As Sherlock Holmes would say "the game is afoot".

  5. And now for a more serious note.

Bulletin from the Headquarters of Blenders International. Due to a recent influx of blenders being taken aboard cruise ships sailing in international waters it becomes necessary to augment the following guidelines. To Wit:

All blenders must be under 53 pounds with a footprint of no more than 4’ by 4’.

No blender may be powered by steam or kerosene*

Blenders powered by turbine engines must fall under the guidelines of International Turbine Engine Association.

Capacity of any blender must not exceed 80 imperial gallons.

Blenders powered by alternating current must be approved by the Good Housekeeping Society and bear their seal of approval.

All blenders must be equipped with a fire retardant system. (Overhead sprinklers, Halide, CO2 are approved)

    * Exception: turbine engines powered by K-1 Kerosene

And the list goes on..entirely too long for perusal on Saturday night. :)

Enjoy your weekend...You've earned it after this thread.

  6. I have a boring attachment for my diesel powered chain saw. If I bore a well, put in a windlass and bucket and rope we can draw water and heat it in a number one wash tub and DW has a scrub board and then there will be a laundromat aboard the Westerdam. And if you don't like recycled sea water you will have some fresh cool water to drink. :)
