If you have would you please what you thought of the excursion and if it was worth the price. Thanks

Hi we were on Ovation of the Seas in January and took the two day excursion from Dunedin, overnight in Queenstown and rejoined the ship in Milford Sound. We loved this excursion. My husband had not been to New Zealand in the past and I wanted him to have more than the glimpse of N Z. I am sure the Celebrity Excursion will be very similar to the RC one. This was the highlight of our cruise. Great itinerary, excellent tour guide, great accommodation in Queenstown, good food and lots of photo opportunities. Yes it is expensive however we felt it was worth every cent.

  2. Hi, does anyone know if Explorer of the Seas has Royal IQ on board.?This is an app you load onto your phones and you can ring fellow passengers and send text messages. We had this on Ovation and it was great, with the size of the ship and the number of people on board we were able to set meeting points really easily. Don't suggest calling RC customer service, they don't know.

  3. If you are going to wear a lanyard don't purchase the ones with the plastic pocket. On our last cruise on Ovation of the Seas we had bad weather, my husband was doing his morning walk, a gust of wind blew the lanyard into the air and the Sea Pass slipped out and sailed into the ocean. Best ones have the small cord plus the clip. We also had the new watch type sea passes which Royal Caribbean have rolled out. Not impressed, they did not always register and most of the time we had to produce our card.

  4. I tried to organise a Vow Renewal on Ovation of the Seas for friends. RC customer service were less than helpful, they needed a minimum of 90 days notice. I then had to organise it myself, thank goodness we Had a Suite, our Concierge on board helped with ordering canapés and drinks, no fresh flowers allowed, no chaplain. We did what we could to make it an enjoyable experience and a surprise for the 'Bride'.

  5. We always take a Suite. Penthouse or Owners if we can. You will love it from the fresh flowers and fruit to priority tenders, embarkation and disembarking. You will love being spoilt. Have a great time.

  6. Hope you are enjoying your cruise! I am in the early planning stages for a Solstice cruise in March/April 2019. Planning to spend about a week in NZ beforehand and am just beginning to think about flying directly into Queenstown for some touring around that area (our cruise does not stop in Queenstown). Then up to Auckland to start our cruise. I would welcome your thoughts on your pre-cruise travel on the South Island when you get a chance.

Hi we had a great time on Ovation despite the poor weather. The Queenstown excursion including the fiordland national park was a highlight. The excursion was two days off ship. It was quite short, however served the purpose we booked it for to see some of the country side. I would recommend taking the time to travel around the South Island pre cruise as the scenery is spectacular. Happy travels.

  7. We have just returned from 12 nights on Ovation of the Seas and have a further cruise booked on Explorer of the Seas in October 2018. For Ovation we were in a Grande Suite for Explorer we are in a n Owners Suite. I called RC customer service enquiring about cruise credit as we had received an email from RC advertising $300.00 credit for new bookings. Their answer was NONE. We had not booked when there was a special. Their suggestion was to cancel the booking and rebook when there was a special. This is very disappointing. Why bother to book early.... yes you have the pick of cabins however you pay higher prices and no onboard credit. Same thing happened with the Ovation booking. We have cruised with other lines previously and always receive a credit. Just disappointed with RC.

  8. Hi I am booked on Ovation in December. We have booked the overnight Queenstown excursion. My husband has not been to NZ before and he wanted to see as much of the countryside as possible. Queenstown is beautiful and a big shame to miss seeing, even for a short time.
