  1. Found some very good info on here when we were planning... and so I thought I would share our experience... we just got off the Vista sailing this past weekend

Flew into MIA the day prior to our sailing... so glad we did, as with delays, we did not arrive until 130am!!!

On our return flight home, I booked a 420pm flight... honestly was dreading sitting in the airport all day after a cruise and even considered booking a hotel for a day..l so glad we didn’t!!!! Because the port of Miami was CLOSED ... we did not dock until 9am or so... the winds were making it hard for the gangway to be attached... by the time we got off the ship, found our luggage with 4000 others people, we did NOT get into a taxi until 1245pm!!!! Thank GOODNESS we did not book an earlier flight!

Just goes to show, you take a chance with Mother Nature sometimes if you try to fly in the day of the cruise or depart to early!!!

  2. I would not do a land based vacation in mainland Hondouras for the reason stated; but my research and personal experience in Roatan indicates it is an entirely different animal. I feel much less safe in Jamaica.

Although it’s bee ahoy six years, we flew to Roatan and stayed there for a week. What an incredible vacation. We did swimming with the dolphins, we held monkeys, we ate a restaurant each morning where the residents were rescued parrots and they came and visited u st your table. Lots of us expats live on the island. We never felt unsafe and stayed at an incredible resort.

  3. Just off the Glory on Saturday and used the Sign & Sail cards - no longer uses quarters. $3 wash, $3 dry, $1.50 for 1-washload of detergent. Note: there are more dryers than washers, so we had to go to a different deck to find an empty washing machine. Pretty painless. Did 2 loads pretty quickly.

You would think you wouldn't need to do laundry on a cruise -- but our clothes got totally soaked going out on those high speed snorkel boats -- they hustle. Plus, the rashguards smell awful after a couple of days in the ocean. It was great to have a selection of nice, clean clothes again!

I agree!!! I started washing our clothes mid week on our past few vacations and it feels wonderful to have clean clothes, and less dirty clothes in the suitcase for flight home!

  4. I purchased WiFi and bottled water, then decided today to upgrade my cabin. On my cruise manager, it no longer shows my purchases. Carnival says the purchases will transfer, but I am not so sure.... has anyone else ever had this happen? Does it ever show back up on cruise manager? Did u have any issues?
