Buyer beware with Allianz travel insurance...you don't get what you paid for. I took out travel insurance for myself and my family for a 7 day cruise. Unfortunately on the cruise I broke my wrist which required surgery. Since the cruise medical staff deemed the surgery non-emergency, it was scheduled for when I returned from the cruise. Due to the injury and subsequent surgery I incurred significant out of pocket medical costs. I submitted a claim with Allianz travel insurance since the injury occurred during my covered period. However they denied my claim since the medical expenses I incurred were not incurred during the cruise or "covered period." Allianz will ONLY cover your out of pocket expenses incurred during the covered period, which is the time period of the cruise. This is despite the fact that the injury clearly occurred during the covered period. I had no way of having my surgery during the cruise. Logically, the surgery took place shortly after returning from my cruise. Allianz denied the claim. Most travel agents are not aware of this policy exclusion from Allianz Travel Insurance. We will never take out another insurance policy from Allianz. Allianz was happy to take our insurance premium and deny our legitimate claim that occurred during the covered period.

Trying to plan specialty dinning reservations around formal night(s)...
(1) How many formal nights on a 6 night cruise?
(2) When are formal nights?
Thank you!

Hopefully only cosmetic damage.

Thank you all for your feedback. My TA told me it is going into drydock next month, but TA told me no guarantees. TA also couldn't confirm for sure if pre-planned amplifications would take place. I figured there are some very in the know people on this forum that might have further info.

Holding cruise for Summer 2022 and wondering if anyone has current status of refurbishment/amplification project? She was supposed to go in May 2020 for a major $110mm refurbishment as part of the cruise line’s wider fleet amplification project, which of course was cancelled. Thanks much for any info or guidance on where I can read more about what is to come with the ship.

I don’t think I’d notice unless there were maybe 1000 less people. There seems to be the normal amount of passengers onboard, all having a great cruise 😎
Happy to hear, and thanks for posting. I will be on Lady O in a few weeks.

Sorry if already posted, is the ship at full capacity or can you tell a lot of people did not sail? Thx.

Going on her in July, thanks for review & look forward to seeing your pictures.

When does your current contract end on Oasis?

I know it is early on in your cruise, but what bar makes the best dirty martini?

I am not aware of any other form of transportation you can take from JFK to Bayonne (taxi, Uber, private car service). As referenced by others, if possible, Newark is only 15-20 minutes from the cruise terminal. JFK will be expensive and time consuming to get to the cruise terminal. Even when staying in Manhattan, I find Newark a better option than JFK. Good luck.

It would definitely be nice if Royal added ports in the Caribbean. Tend to have same western and eastern destinations.

We did it with 5 (2 adults, 3 young kids). It is doable with your own kids, but I would suggest adjoining cabin, which we do now. May even be cheaper than doing Junior Suite.

Be thankful you are on a large ship 😃

2nd and 5th night per his posted cruise planners, both sea days.
Thank you!

Awesome review! Thank you. I know you did a lot of drinking, but can you recall the two formal nights? We have the same itinerary in March. Thanks again!

I think two rooms will be more economical compared to the large suite you would need to comfortably sleep 5 adults.

Congrats! Sailing on Oasis in March..cannot wait.

Yes, usually assistant waiter who takes care of wine. In a large group, we would rotate each night tipping $10 to the assistant waiter because we all drank wine and all had the drink package. It has worked well for us and never had an empty glass.

Very doable, especially with Key.
