There is a form but I have never used it. I just attach my statement showing my Carnival shares and in the body of the email state my booking #, ship and sailing date.

What if the Brokerage account is in my husbands name and he is not going? Am I out of luck?

Im not sure if this makes a difference or not or if it even goes to the same people, but I have always sent the email to two separate email addresses. I send the OBC requests to shareholders@carnival.com and guestadmin@carnival.com

Again, not sure if that makes a difference or not or if I have just been lucky about never being denied even with awesome casino offers.

Is there some kind of form we need to fill out? I have never applied for my stockholders onboard credit yet.

  3. Agree. I like to see simple stats vs, weeding through long threads trying to determine on my own if there’s some sort of “pattern”. The other threads on the program are great for answering questions. But if you just want to see numbers and stats, you don’t have to go any further than the first post of this thread.

I agree! I was actually pretty happy to see this poll as it was my first time to bid and I was wondering just how many poor offers were accepted! :D:D

  4. Everyone has such different taste buds! I think that the MDR and buffet on NCL is horrible compared to Carnival!! I consider all the food stations on the Lido to be part of the "buffet" choides. I really don't like making reservations each night at restaurants in order to get decent food!

We don't buy drink pkgs so cannot compare that.

    THIS!

We did not care for the food on NCL in the main dining room or the buffet either! And I also do not like making reservations and paying extra for the specialty dining but its the only good food there IMO. That being said I am still booked on NCL in October. LOL

  5. On Elegant night there will be photo sessions set up throughout the ship with many different backdrops. My one souvenir that I bring back every cruise is a family picture of us on Elegant night. Just something to think about in case your interested. :DYou are going to have a great time!

The one in my avatar was our very first cruise. The little boy in this picture is 23 now and still loves to cruise!

  6. I just received two price drops. The first one I did not lose my onboard credit, it was a drop of 36.00. My second one my PVP told me I would lose the onboard credit but would save 102.00! Maybe you'll get another drop and it will all be worth it. :)

  7. I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the elegant night food, but I HAAAAAAAAAAAAATE having to get dressed up in monkey suits.

To me, the perfect "elegant" night would be a "cruise casual" dress code with the "elegant night" menu and servers walking around with dessert carts containing the "Chocolate Extravaganza" type desserts.

    EXACTLY! ME TOO!

We usually dress up in slacks and nice shirt, just enough so we don't feel out of place. It was nice when we were "stranded" on the Freedom during the hurricane because we didn't have to dress for elegant night on the second week! :)

  8. I have been on 10 cruises, 9 of them with Carnival. We sailed on the NCL Epic last time. We had a great time. There are some differences that I noticed, some I liked and some I didn't. I loved the décor of the ship. It was very classy in my opinion. I loved the big screen TV in guest services area. They played a lot of games in this open area. I loved the fact that I never had to wait more than 5 minutes at guest services. They always had someone walking the line asking what you needed and telling you where to go. I loved the fact that I could book another cruise while onboard and not have a wait at all! (I think Carnival has changed theirs now too but I'm not sure) I loved the fact that they gave warm washcloths when returning from an excursion! LOL I liked how they were always at the doors with hand sanitizer saying washy washy. LOL I did not care for the food at all, neither did my mom or son. We did get a specialty food package for 3 meals, thank goodness! We all enjoyed the food at the specialty restaurants. I didn't like the fact that I had to book reservations and that they lost the reservations that I made online. The way the ship was layed out made it seem small to me. Overall I am glad that we went and we will definitely be going again, just not this next time, we are going on Carnival again. :)

  9. We were on a ship last week. I booked a "sleeper" cruise. I asked the Future Cruise Associate to book the shortest, farthest out cruise using Past Guest rate only. Now that we're home, I'll search until the perfect cruise comes along and I'll contact our PVP to transfer the new cruise to the booking number.

We did this as well on our last cruise. The line is always horribly long. We were able to turn in our form without waiting in that long line, and just tell them to find the shortest farthest away cruise and let us know what it is. When we decided what cruise we really wanted I called my PVP.

  10. My son in law did this. He spoke to the Cruise director when we boarded. They met a couple of times to go over some ideas. He ended up proposing to her in the piano bar, it was closed at the time, we told her we wanted to go check it out. The piano player was there and he played their favorite song as she walked in. It was Fly me to the Moon. He proposed after he was finished playing and they brought out a cake that said will you marry me. They also had a photographer come in and gave them complimentary pictures. It was very nice.

Oh and I forgot to add that the piano player did not know the song and had to learn it so they delayed the proposal a couple of days! They went over and beyond what we expected.

  11. Does anyone know who I can contact? I spoke with the jewelry store today and they expect the ring to be in before the cruise.

  12. Good guidance on the "no show" situation, as that is a possibility. Thank you!

What if they call up and legitimately cancel a few weeks or days before the cruise (for medical or "any other reason"?) Can I really expect to just have our room to myself and that's that? Cruise pup--if you're still around--how far before sailing did you cancel?

This actually happened to me. My parents and myself were in a balcony room. My dad had a heart attack and him and my mom had to cancel. (This was a couple of months before the cruise but his Dr did not want him going) I was left in the room by myself. In order to get their money back they had to cancel. Carnival then wanted me to pay for the remainder of the room. Luckily I had insurance as well so I had to pay upfront the money and I was reimbursed from insurance after I sailed.

I am not for sure what the insurance policy states in regards to canceling a cruise or being a no show and then trying to file. If they are a no show it will not effect your cruise and you will not have to pay more but I am not sure they would still get all their money back.

  13. I am enjoying your Epic live! We just got off of the Epic on the day you got on! My mom and I were in room 12263! My son was in a studio room 12567. Unfortunately he left his shoes under the bed when we left. ;( I called the lost and found but they have not been turned in. I have a feeling they won't be found unless someone crawls under the bed to find them. If you have a spare moment, could you ask the room steward in that hall (12567)to please check for his shoes and turn them into lost and found? I would be forever grateful!

  14. We just got off the Epic on Dec 3. My son was staying in room 12567 (studio) and left his new dress shoes under the bed! We have called lost and found but they have not been turned in yet and probably won't be unless someone looks under the bed! If you know someone on the Epic right now I would be forever grateful if they would ask the room steward on that hall to check for the shoes so they can be turned in to lost and found.

I have also posted this in the roll call for this week.

    Thanks in advance!

  15. Is there any way your mother can change from her Dining Package to something else? I've heard of others doing that. Its worth a try.

That was the next thing I was going to try! :) Great minds think alike!

Thank you all for all your help!

  16. Thank you to all that responded! I really appreciate it.

My mom is the only one in our group of 5 that has the specialty dining. We all wanted to eat together at night for dinner so we were hoping she could use her specialty dining meals during lunch but I guess that's not possible. 😕

Does anyone know what time the specialty dining places open?

  17. I have been on 8 cruises and all of them have been on Carnival so I pretty much know the ins and outs and how they do things. However,in November I will be going on my first NCL cruise. I'm pretty excited to be venturing out! LOL My problem is that I know absolutely nothing about NCL. Can those of you that have sailed on both tell me what are things that are the same on both lines and what might be different? Does NCL have the free ice cream like carnival? Do their activities like bowling cost extra? Is there an elegant night on NCL? How will I know which restaurants cost money?

Also my mom got the specialty dining package free with her cruise. Can she use this during lunch or is it only for dinner? Can she order her meal to go if she doesn't want to sit in the restaurant?

Thanks in advance for your help!
