Thank you for posting and keeping us updated on your cruise.

My TA just called me and said the same thing. When he calls HAL they answer and say they aren't taking any more calls today and call back tomorrow.

fatbob66...It seems that you are the lucky one...and the only one ..at least on this thread..that has been able to book something else within the 2020 time frame!! My TA just called 2X and received the same answer she got before...the only option was to book something else in the 50 % penalty phase...which just doesn't make any sense!!
Are you willing to share info with us so that we might be able to show HAL that you have been able to do this? Do you feel that you were given some type of exception due to health reasons or ? I'm not trying to pry..I just have to cancel our April T/A by tomorrow...before I move into the 75% penalty range...on the cardio doc's orders ( age and cardio vascular disease on the part of my 83 yo DH) and would like to be able to move that $$ to somewhere else...other than a cruise in this same time frame!!!
Trip insurance have said that they won't cover the cancellation ...even though I have a policy that covers pre-existing conditions because it is about the virus and they don't cover epidemics!! (even though they have now said if we were to go they would cover any medical expenses due to contracting the virus!! Go figure on THAT one!!!)
What a mess!!! Any and all help is so appreciated!!! 🙂
What other info would you like, I'd be happy to tell you whatever might help

We were sailing on 3/11 out of Ft. Lauderdale on the Veendam to the western Caribbean so the cruise had been paid for a while ago. The information about the Corona virus is so fluid and seems to change from day to day we really didn't want to chance getting quarantined on the ship for 2 weeks or more. We're retired so we have the flexibility of easily picking another date.
-
We just cancelled a cruise with HAL and they allowed us to use the value of the cruise on any other cruise of the same value or greater for any date in 2020. Our TA took care of all the details and we're now booked on a November 2020 cruise. It was a difficult decision.

Does the Veendam have wall mounted large TV's or the smaller desk top models? Any recent photo's would be great.

What is the difference in the "colors" when picking a cabana @ Half Moon Cay?

Thanks for the info!

I purchased some future cruise credits on my last cruise and was wondering if my travel agent can book with them or do I have to book through Holland America?
Thanks

What size is the TV in the Neptune Suite on the Volendam. Also how is the movie selection? And finally any issues with noise coming from the Lido deck?
Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know what Caffeine free beverages HAL has available on it's ships?

Nice review, Thanks!

As several people have suggested just write a note on the order form. Recently on the Eurodam we ordered every morning. One pot of regular and one pot of decaff with extra cream and sugar. Had to call the first morning for extra cream but everyday after that the order was spot on.

Thank you for your reporting and photos of the trip. We really enjoy you sharing the adventure.

Thanks for the update!

We were on the Eurodam in mid July and had breakfast every morning in the Pinnacle Grill. The Club Orange was implemented in late June as I recall from the posted list. Dinner was in a separate section of the dinning room. If the breakfast option is going to be cancelled in the future it will be a loss, we really enjoy breakfast there.

Can a recent cruise I took on Carnival count towards my Mariner points on HAL?

We took an upgrade to the Neptune Suite on our recent Alaska cruise on the Eurodam and really enjoyed the extra space. But our favorite perk would have to be the free laundry and dry cleaning. We also enjoyed breakfast in the Pinnacle Grill. We were spending a night in Seattle after the cruise so we were able to stay in our suite until we left the ship, nice not to be rushed off. Not sure if it was the Neptune Suite or the staff but we seemed to get a faster response when we ask our cabin stewards for something. The Concierges also helped change a few dinner reservations we had. You'll no doubt enjoy the suite.
Health Question form before crusing
in Holland America Line

Still unable to complete the health question form required before sailing. Doesn't work on desk top or navigator app. Does not give me much confidence in HAL's ability to handle any situation concerning the COVID should it arise on my upcoming cruise.
