  1. Don't know what brought me here to read this. I am AB, and I am appalled that other AB people do this. Is it to just be able to bring their animal along, or is it something else? I love my pet as much as anyone, but good grief.

I have the greatest respect for service animals, what a wonderful and satisfying service they provide. To dumb it down with pets in the mix is just plain wrong and disrespectful.

    God bless ya'll.

  2. We are arriving in Cozumel via the Independence of the Seas in January. My daughter is 14 and wants to be a chef and I was thinking that this would be a great surprise excursion for her. However I'm afraid that it's adults only. Does anyone know for sure?

    thanks so much:)

Check with the excursion desk on board. My 16 year old nephew was allowed when we booked with Carnival.

  3. Repsol, to answer your original question, I don't think I've ever seen anyone, in person, black, white, or otherwise, in a kilt (note to self - go to the Highland Festival this year). I appreciate your wanting to be as authentic as possible, shows a lot about your character. I will add that, even with the Scottish blood flowing through me (think we migrated in the 1700's), I would have NO clue as to what is right or wrong with your outfit.

You've made some great contacts here with those that can help you keep it real.

Go far it, enjoy it and embrace it.

And let us know how it goes. :)

  4. Thanks again, everyone, for you encouragement, for setting me straight on some things, and for the courtesy shown toward one another through this thread. You all are a class act!

The wifey agreed to a test fitting to determine if this is a look I can pull off. I'll let you all know.

    Repsol

I get the feeling from your posts that you will be able to pull this off with no problem, a class act yourself. Keep us posted on which tartan you go with, and can't wait to see the pictures.

  5. How would you feel seeing someone who is obviously not of your ethnic background wearing clothing that was specific to your ethnic background?

While I understand your point, our ethnic backgrounds aren't always obvious. Just as there are whites with an African background, I'm sure there are blacks with a Scottish background. And how the heck are we supposed to know?
