  1. Agree, pincho and food republic are the best (only decent) restaurants.

We didn't use the dining package for that one because it's not that expensive. Might not be the best deal. However, i guess all the other options aren't really that good in terms of food quality.

  2. NCL is counting on first time cruisers or visitors seeing their website and being wowed by this short time special sale. To the rest of us it's just ..... meh.

Yep, I was pressured a little the first time I cruised just recently by the "sale" Worked somewhat for me. Was planning on booking anyway but might have been the extra kick in the back i needed to book it. It worked out okay in the end after i figured out it wasn't really a limited time offer. The overall value is decent anyway.

I think a big part of it is all the data that shows that modern cruising is a really popular product. There are a lot of people who have never tried cruising or where cruising wasn't for them in the 90's and 00's who would now enjoy the product offered. The data shows that the satisfaction rate currently is really high and those who go on one cruise are highly likely to go on many more in the future. So all the mainstream companies are trying to get people to take that first step.

  3. Oral rehydration salts are the best. You can make your own or buy them, easier to travel with as you can just get the packages and add water (can find it on amazon, probably pharmacies). Pedialyte is okay and tastes better (though it still doesn't taste great). Gatorade has too much glucose and not enough salt and may actually worsen your dehydration as the extra glucose can pull water out. Drinking pure water is okay, it isn't very efficient, your body isn't able to absorb much and it worsens your diarrhea as it comes out.

Bismuth subsalicylate has been reported to decrease the discomfort, but not the amount or volume of diarrhea.

Anti-diarrhea meds like immodium is probably what they prescribed and they have been reported to help the number and amount of diarrhea, but generally it isn't recommended because if the diagnosis is wrong and it is a bacterial infectious diarrhea and not viral you can (very rarely) cause life threatening complications.
