  1. We will be heading to Alaska this summer with 6 kids between the ages of 5-11 (and 4 adults). We have 4 nights on Kenai Lake before a one way cruise from Whittier to Vancouver on the Golden Princess.

In Juneau, Harv and Marvs only does private boats with kids - we are considering this. Do you think several hours on a small whale watching boat would be appropriate for kids these ages? They are all very well behaved so that isn't my issue - it is more about if you think this is a good use of time and appropriate?

And same question for the train in Skagway. I was thinking a van ride up and the train on the way down.

    Thanks!

  2. We will be on the Golden Princess this summer in Alaska. There will be 10 people in our group, with 6 kids ages five through eleven. We will probably want to eat on the early side. Would we be better off with anytime dining or a set dining time? Are there night the kids can eat dinner in the kids club? Thanks!

  3. I am talking to our Travel Agent and I am trying to book airfare and transfers through Princess. We are flying from San Francisco to Anchorage and then cruising from Whittier to Vancouver. The guy is telling me that if we book airfare through Princess and it is the flexible ticket, if the price of the ticket goes up we have to pay MORE than what they are quoting us right now? This does not make sense. Why wouldn't I just go to the airline directly and book the ticket a the price I see to lock it in?

Also, I need transfers for 2 people in my group from Anchorage to Whittier. We arrive in Alaska 4 days early but these two people will be going back to Anchorage to return rental cars and then need the bus to Whittier. Princess is saying we can't book transfers through them unless we are staying at one of their contracted hotels. What the heck?!? This also does not seem right to me.

    Thoughts? Thanks so much.

  4. Hi all. We are planning a cruise to Alaska for 2 families, total of 6 kids between the ages of 6-12 for August 2018. I am looking at two options, one on Royal Caribbean (Radiance of the Seas) from Seward and one on Princess (Golden Princess) from Whittier. Both have almost exact itinerary and very similar price. Do you have a recommendation between these two cruise lines based on the age of the kids? I am not concerned about other kids on the ships b/c we have plenty of our own to play with. I am more interested in the quality of the two ships and programming. Thanks!
