  1. I used my 100 obc already for an upcoming cruise. I reserved and excursion and part of the obc was taken. I then booked dining and used my cc. I was told that once on board, my cc will be credited back and the obc will be used. Theres a good chance I will have to go to customer service for this to happen, but I'm prepared for that.

Does anyone know how it would be handled by Carnival if a cruise booked with a FCC that was cancelled is used on a less expensive cruise?  Would the difference be refunded to your credit card ?

My most recent rebook was a lot cheaper. Carnival applied up to $500 to obc. Anything after that, you forfeit.  They will encourage  you to upgrade so you don't  have to forfeit.  We also got $56 credited back to the credit card for less taxes and fees.

  3. I inquired with barclay and received  this message:

Hi Nancy, Thank you for reaching out with your concern. For cruises canceled by Carnival due to COVID-19, your FunPoints will be automatically reimbursed to your Carnival credit card account. Due to the high volume of inquiries, you can expect to see your points credited back to your account within 1-2 billing cycles. As such, you do not need to contact Carnival to have your points credited back, as we will be issuing them back to you.

If you have any other inquiries related to this voyage or future voyages, you may contact Carnival directly at 800-227-6482. Representatives are available 24/7. We hope this was helpful! Thank you, ^SR

  4. I also redeemed points for 2 carnival cards and 1 bar cash . I added both on to my cruise. I emailed and called with no luck hearing a response. I did see somewhere on facebook that Barclay will be reimbursing,  but not sure how yet. I plan to keep calling until I get through. I have another cruise booked that I planned on using these cards on.

  5. Here's my dilemma: after a day at a port/beach/pool, coming back all sweaty, etc, and having hair that doesn't behave air-dried I usually spend a good amount of time washing my hair and blow drying it so I can look presentable for dinner time. Why do I want to look presentable? Because we tend to take advantage of the photo booths every night (we get the photo package). These are our yearly "family photo sessions" so they are important to me, and I don't want to be in a bun in all these pictures.

My question is, do you have any tips/tricks on how to make styling/prepping time faster? Do you wear wigs, fake ponytails? Do you not dip your head in the water some days so you don't have to wash/style that night? Other?

P.S. Please, I don't need to hear how cruises are supposed to be relaxing and you wouldn't be putting this kind of effort. I'm looking for advice on how to ease my situation, not avoid it, so if you don't have this problem or it's not something you can relate to feel free to move along and/or keep your snarky comments to yourself. (Sorry not trying to sound mean, but it really seems like some people in this board get a thrill out of making sarcastic comments on as many threads as possible).

I can relate to the whole "hair situation" on a cruise. I have been on 7 cruises, all with high humidity which doesn't work well for my longer thick hair. I decided awhile back that the time and effort it takes isn't worth it. I usually only wear my hair down one night and the rest is a pony tail. I found that a straight iron is the easiest and quickest way to look "picture ready".

  6. My first RCCL was booked through an agent who did nothing! I was online and the phone constantly when I saw good deals and then had to call her to make changes. It was alot of work for me to save money even with an agent. Yesterday I booked directly with RCCL and was content with the price because I knew there would be deals coming up that are better and I could apply. Then I saw a good deal with a travel agency today where there are free gratuities for 4 people but the obc was only 25 ea instead of 50 each. I'm afraid to change to this agency because I may be locked in even if a better deal comes along. Any opinion? I don't have alot of experience doing this

Disney Cruise ships are in a class of their own. Royal and Carnival couldn't come close to that standard.
