  1. I feel like I've read in other posts that people did have some luck with switching over to a different group? I don't know this for certain, but it probably depends on who you get, how crowded the age groups are, how much of an age difference, and things like that. I'll feel them out when I go in a few weeks.

  2. My 3 and 5 year olds are girls. This will be my 3 yo first time in the kids club. She is super excited. My 5 yo has done it before and loved it. My 12 year old niece is also going, but I highly doubt she will attend much. She tried it once last year and it was not for her. Kind of an introvert. We'll see. I hope she does, although she has only gotten worse. She is in that awful age where she hates everything. Yuck. I do not look forward to preteen and teenage years with my girls!

  3. I was mostly trying to figure out when the times were so we can plan adult activities when they would be there. For instance they would have no interest in being at the cruise critic meet and greet and slot pull. I don't want to agree to go if the kids club isn't open. Is there a way to check this?

  4. I am looking for something a 3 and 5 year old could do to see natural underwater life in Bermuda. I was thinking a submarine ride or similar but I am not having any luck. They are not accustomed to ocean living so snorkel-excursions would most likely not work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  5. Are you willing to stay further out? The Parsipanny area has a large selection of hotels in a more suburban setting that have very reasonable rates on a Sat night when there is no business travel. We recommend this area all the time for folks coming in from Ohio and Western PA. You should be able to get nice rooms for <$100 + tax/room. It's 45-60 minutes from the cruise terminal. After a long drive you would be getting off the road before you hit the Metro NYC traffic.

I have my group of 9 (6 adults 3 children) on board with staying in Parsippany the night before. Any particular place you like or to stay away from? We are coming in late Sat and leaving in the morning, so nothing fancy is necessary. Mainly just clean and in a safe area. Easy off the highway is a bonus. A quick search is showing hampton inn north, fairfield inn and suites, and Ramada. Thoughts on these? They are all appx $100 per night.

  6. Do it! A group of 6 arrived the day before our cruise left a few years ago and it was a lot of fun. Had no issues with our 3 rooms, although we were only in our rooms a couple of hours. Really it was more of a place to hold our stuff. I mean it's Mardi Gras! It was in the garden district. Taxi van took us to the terminal that morning. He knew what he was doing and had zero issues. I'm sure we were all still drunk and we could still figure it out so it couldn't have been that hard.

  7. We snorkeled in Honduras and did cave tubing in Belize.

We did these tours about 5 years ago. The snorkeling was amazing. They took us over a sink hole in the ocean that took my breath away. They picked us up at the pier, fed us, provided all the equipment, and took us back. There was 6 in our group and maybe 4-6 other people. Loved it. The cave tubing seemed better than all the other groups we happened to see. Took us way farther into the jungle and the group was way smaller. We passed a cruise excursion that probably had at least 50 people in it! We had about 10 or so. The guide was great. But what I didn't like was being a human chain. Another person's feet are under your armpits. And since you are laying back on a tube, their feet are by your face. It's for safety and when we would pass other groups they were all doing the same thing. All in all I'm glad we did it. Jungle was neat and I can say I did it. But I didn't like stinky feet in my face. 😝

  8. We wouldn't be arriving to the city until about 10pm on June 9 and we would be catching the ncl escape the next morning. So nothing fancy in seeing what NYC has to offer. We'll make that another trip on its own. We only need a safe and comfortable place to sleep and park for a night, hopefully some place that's easy to get a 12 person van in and out of, and anything extra would be a bonus.

  9. How are the driving conditions in NYC Sunday mornings? Specifically the Lincoln tunnel and Newark or Secaucus areas headed towards the Manhattan cruise terminal. I have never driven in NYC and was considering driving to the terminal staying in a hotel the night before my cruise. Probably staying somewhere in outlying areas less than ten miles from the pier. Was just curious how much time it would take to get to the terminal and how nervous I should be about driving, lol?
