Hey everyone. I was looking to book a cruise for January 2019 on the Carnival Vista. I was wondering if Carnival historically had good sales on Memorial Day, or should I not even bother waiting?
-
I guess my main question is, how bad would the noise be above the cabin? Considering it's not below a party area, would I actually notice people walking around?
-
Hey all. I'm looking at booking my next cruise, and found a good deal on the Liberty. The cabin in particular with the best deal is 3327. Looking at the deck plan, it's right next to the Art Gallery, and I believe it's below a walk way. I was just wondering if anyone on here has had personal experience with this cabin, and if so, how is the noise?
I've added a screenshot of the exact location on the deck plan.

Thanks all. Not sure I trust sushi from a cart, lol. I was hoping they had higher quality sushi onboard.

Hey all, I was just wondering if there were any places to buy sushi on LOTS? all of the posts I could find mentioning it were at least 2-3 years old, and we all know things can definitely change within that amount of time.

BTW: Frankie, the Cruise Director, really knows how to work the crowd. Chow for now!
You forgot the *boop* at the end.

Just got off the Valor last week. I loved it! The ship itself is nice, but is definitely starting to show it's age. There was also a weird sewage type smell in certain areas. The art auction was fun, and my girlfriend and I ended up buying 6 paintings when we honestly didn't intend on buying any. The staff was great and as previously stated, Frankie is AWESOME.
I hope you like older country music, because that's what you'll get about 95% of the time. I'm not a huge fan myself, but it was nice to see other guests get into it.
One tip. Go see the shows! I'm a 28 year old guy, so I didn't really think I'd like them, but they were REALLY good!
I'm excited to try the Vista next year, so that I can see what a new ship is like. But for being almost 15 years old, the Valor is very nice.

Sail Monday, will let you know.
So do I. Pretty excited, as this is my first cruise since way back when I was 13.

Quick question since we're talking about their pizza. Are you allowed to take a pizza back to your room? Say if my girlfriend and I wanted to have a pizza and movie night in our cabin, would that be allowed, or do we have to eat it at the restaurant?
-
Nah. If anything will push me towards another cruise line, it won't be the reports. I'm young and have a good immune system. Unless a ton of people get sick on the same cruise due to these issues, then I really couldn't care less.
Hell, most restaurants you eat out at probably have worse sanitary conditions.
-
Interesting how the Vista, one of their newest ships failed, but the Valor, one of their older ships got a perfect 100. I wonder if they really ARE understaffing the larger ships.
-
I'll be heading out on the Valor on Monday. I'm hoping we get at least SOME sun.

I keep seeing posts and threads about how Carnival is constantly cutting back on things, but most of the cutbacks listed seem pretty petty to someone such as myself that is a newbie at cruising.
I was wondering if there have been any major cutbacks in the past few years that I should know about, or are they all just a bunch of small ones that add up?

Not to hijack the thread, but going by their rules, that means that my girlfriend and I can bring a total of 2 750ml bottles of champagne, and a 12 pack of sodas, correct? What if the champagne bottles don't show the volume on the bottle?

Hello,
I am sailing out of Galveston but I am driving from OKC. My rental car is from National and I can only drop it in Houston. What are the cheapest options for getting to the boat? I see on the Carnival website its $37 per person. Any other ideas? :D Thanks for any feedback.
I would check Uber. I live near Galveston, and I can tell you there are a TON of good Uber drivers in the area.

Now I'm on the fence about emailing my Maitre'd closer to my cruise. I saw this thread, and figured it would be a great way to get a 2 top table for my cruise. But a lot of people in here are saying NOT to do so. I was initially going to talk to the Maitre'd as soon as I got onboard, but I have the latest boarding time, and don't want to miss my chance.

I'm going to be on the Valor at the end of January, and I definitely planned on keeping up with my workout schedule. I was just wondering how packed the gyms onboard get throughout the day? With over 2000 people on the ship, I assume it wouldn't take much for the gyms to get overloaded.
-
My girlfriend and I will probably stay on board when we get to Progreso. We might get off for an hour or so, but I've heard there's not much to do there.
-
Yes - but they are mini martinis. They will also run a nightly special of $1 of the $10.95 price for a particular drink, ladies night etc.
Ah, gotcha. I was about to say... 4 martinis for $20 is a damn good deal.
-
They also have a 4 for $20 martini tasting which I always do my first night on board the ship.
Oh wow, and that's in the Alchemy Bar?
-
Hey guys, so I'll be going on the Carnival Valor on Jan. 22. I read about the Alchemy Bar, and it looks/sounds cool. I went online to find pictures of the menu, so that I could see what they had. Well I came across come pictures showing the drinks priced at $8.99 and other pictures showing them priced at $10.99.
I was wondering which was the correct price? Also, do they have any sort of happy hour?
Just got back from sailing on the Vista....had a great time....ask me anything.

So the crowdedness is my main concern about the Vista. How are the lines for the buffet, activies, etc?
