  1. I'm not really familiar with them. They've been on BBB for about a year with one complaint where the company made every reasonable effort to resolve it.

If you're willing to rent a vehicle after the cruise to return to the airport can I ask what is stopping you from renting a vehicle to go to port? Renting a car to go to port is no big deal at all. Really! :D It's literally a straight shot from the airport. Just hitting the beeline expressway right from the terminal. There is an RaceTrac very close to the rental companies where you can top off the tank before returning - also will give you an opportunity for the beer/water run. Budget, Avis, Hertz and Thrifty are all close to port with shuttles. Hertz and Thrifty are off site at the airport (Hertz shuttles runs pretty frequent from my experience) while Budget and Avis are right in the airport. A full size car runs about $40 or thereabout. It's going to be cheaper than a private car company.

Sorry for the mixed signals. I know I gave a laundry list of towncar companies. Now I'm encouraging you to go with a rental.

Can I ask how much Ace was charging for the one way? :)

  2. There are many transportation companies, but here are some that come recommended from a disney related forum I frequent:

www.quicksilver-tours.com I've used them personally & was satisified

www.lordentransportation.com I use Dennis almost exclusively

www.taxi-mco.com I've used Ed Korgan last October with no problems (clean SUV and very reasonably priced)

www.sunraytransportation.com They are getting stellar reviews but I haven't used them

www.tiffanytowncar.com Had some mixed reviews but my friend uses them exclusively

www.happylimo.com Recommended by www.mousesavers.com - as a reader service is guaranteed. I'm not sure if this is for DCL only. Had some mixed reviews but seems to be improving. Used once for stretch hummer and navigator and had issues myself back in 2005 before the service guaranteed thing was implemented.

www.fltours.com Another company that get decent reviews

www.selimo.com They get stellar reviews as well (have to note they've not had one single complaint with BBB when I was checking on them)

Some of these companies have coupons on their site. If you go to www.disboards.com and click FL Tours link through there it may yield a lower rate. Tiffany has a coupon on their site as well. Happy Limo - coupon on mousesavers.

    HTH!

  3. Had to bump this up - good info here.

I do have one question. Do most people find that they usually tip the suggested amount or do you go above that? I've only cruised once and I felt the service was worth above that amount but didn't know if I went up enough. If you do go above the suggested amount do you typically tip slightly, moderately or way above the suggested tip? Do you always tip above that amount or just when service warrants it?

    Thanks!

  4. Reesa - The suite category right below the Penthouse I think is the premium suite or something like that. It's not that big of a difference in size but merely location. Again, these are located on aft which would be a quieter location. You can get a nice size suite like the Penthouse but it'll be on a different floor and aft instead of midship. Call your TA or Princess direct to get the exact square footages but I'm pretty sure I'm right on this. You can always keep the Penthouse suite and just bring some ear plugs if you're really worried about it. :D

gailc - Yes, I do like being centrally located. We rarely took the elevators on our first cruise since we were on the deck below. Was it worth the little bit of rumbling we heard every now and then? Yep!

  5. I've booked the same suite you have on the Riveria deck. I was in a similar situation on the Disney Magic. We were literally right under their family pool. No noise woke me up at night. However, their pool closed down at night. I did hear a little bit of activity in the morning, but only after I was already awake. I'm not an extremely light sleeper but I wouldn't sleep through anything either. It was perfectly fine for me. Thank goodness we were already participating in the deck party. Now our ceiling did vibrate and thump with all the activity. We came back right before it was over. I hope all kids were on deck enjoying it instead of parents having to settle their kids back down.

If you are worried about the noise, I'd go with the suites that are located on aft. I'm sure they may have more vibration then a midship location but I would imagine it is a quieter location if that's going to make or break your cruise.

  6. Life would be a complete bummer and would totally stink without a sense of humor.

Thanks, Caroline. I didn't mean to be such a downer folks, but we gotta keep it G/PG rated don't we? LOL! Oh, well maybe PG-13 sometimes.

I'll try the freebie stuff one day and see how it goes. If it's no biggie then I'll stick with it. If not, we need to keep the swirl soft serve flowing. I hope they have chocolate sauce. :D

  7. No problem, Norcal123.

Thanks for all the other posters on the standing in line with the frenzied ice-cream craving people for that 1 hour which should probably just be skipped for a more enjoyable time info. I think us addicts will bring $$$$$ and be very happy. :)

I too don't understand the reason for charging for soft serve ice-cream but again I'm still trying to figure out why they charge for cheap soft drinks too. Lets serve them lobster but let's charge 'em for that .50 drink. LOL - I'm totally over it. DH & I tend to stick with water and alcohol and DS doesn't really drink sodas either except at meal times, but the ice-cream is a kicker. We all have "habits."
