  1. Why not do "EZ" check where Princess takes your luggage the night before and sends it to your airlines that way you do not have to lug around your luggage and just do a small carry on with wheels and do shopping for find a nice spot to hang out and have lunch. It is the best $25 dollars that you can spend.

  2. We were all talking and the simple solution was the others that have already booked on the Seaside are all canceling their cruise. We have decided to switch to Holland America's newest ship. When I book a cruise I do not want to have to keep "checking back to see if there are any single cabins available" - I want to book the cruise, book air fare & go! What I do not understand with MSC is it is OK that they have 3 or 4 passengers crammed into a cabin but they cannot let a single purchase a cabin without always checking back! Too much work for me.....Booking with MSC is way to stressful. They lost a "black card" member too! Thank you everyone for your feedback!

  3. Bug - I realize that "singles" do pay a little bit more when cruising alone in a cabin. But why would MSC not even give me a price? I do not want to book for a double and pay port charges twice and take out extra insurance to cancel on of the "fake" passengers. That is not worth all the trouble. It is interesting that others are finding it impossible to book "single" cabin on MSC where so many of the other cruise lines are more accommodating toward singles. We all wanted to try the SeaSide after sailing on the Divina several times. Thank your for sharing your booking experience with me.

  4. Called my travel agent yesterday to book two double cabins and one single cabin on the MSC SeaSide for April 2018 - 13 months away! My agent could not access a cabin for a "single" on her computer so she called MSC directly - only to hear from MSC directly "we are not releasing any single cabins for that sailing right now"! What does this mean? Are they discriminating against singles? The ship hold over 5,000 passenger so I cannot image that is sold out this early. I tried to do a "fake" booking on several different sites and they will not let you book a cabin for a single! I am a "black" card hold with MSC and never had a problem booking with them before. Has anyone else had a problem booking cabins for a single person on MSC? Thanks for letting me vent! Received this back from MSC regarding this issue:

Hello We see you are just as excited about MSC Seaside as we are! We know that booking a cruise can get pretty anxious, but we do appreciate your patience as we continue to smooth out the final details with all of our staterooms. We encourage you to keep your eyes and ears open, as well as checking back with us, to see when MSC Seaside staterooms become available for solo passengers. Best Regards, MSC Cruises USA

  5. We always trade the little liquor bottles for all Vodka and the sodas for diet coke. Can we swap the beer for liquor too? DH used to drink an occasional beer but he's kind of off that now. I lost my taste for beer years ago.

Beer can only be swapped for soda or water and not liquor!

  6. MSC Muster Drill is a disgrace! Passengers were all standing up talking, putting on their lift jackets - I could not even see the person in charge running the drill! If there was ever a disaster this ship would have been in big trouble.

  7. Thanking you in advance for your help! First timers to Seattle - need transportation for 5 adults from Sea to Mariott Waterfront. Would a shuttle service be our best bet or do they have large van type taxi's? How far is the airport to the hotel and roughly what would the cost be? Again, cost from hotel to Pier 91, cost and distances. Finally, from Pier 91 back to airport - how far is that? Thank you!!!

  8. Thanks everyone! Kind of strange they need a form for it, but it works! All of my other cruises (except my first, that was enough, thanks!) we have done self assist or concierge assist.

The reason for the form is so they can assign you the correct luggage tags! Hope this helps!

  9. Just returned from MSC Divina on Saturday - we were off the ship at 6:45 a.m. and zipped right thru Customs since we were so early! We took our own bags off! Port of Miami does not have Global Entry! Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale does have Global Entry - I was on the Regal Princess in Dec. and was able to use GE!

  10. Hi, on another thread it showed everyone was to be out of their room and a picture of the daily was shown. I saw nothing about self-assist in debarking the ship, is it available?

    Thanks in advance! :)

We did self-assist this past Saturday - we were in the Group 1 - went to deck 7 at 6:45 a.m. and were off this ship immediately! Made it to Ft. Lauderdale for a 9:30 a.m. flight home! (was able to switch to an earlier flight)

    Flew thru customs too!

  11. I am sure the Yacht Club is lovely! Just keep in mind that kids cruise "free" on MSC so if you want a quite pool even in the Yacht Club you will still have all ages of kids both in the pool and hot tubs and in the dining room! Time for MSC to get an adult only pool - that is diaper free!! There were over 1,000 kids last week and over 800 kids cruising this week. That is a lot of noise trust me! Plus June is when all the kids are out on summer vacation. There are so many other ships that offer adult only pools! Just my opinion!

  12. Cruiser - I am an Elite with Princess and my favorite Princess ship is the Regal Princess! Love the beautiful buffet (Horizon Court), Alfredo's is a sit down pizza restaurant that is free of charge, International Cafe great for snack or quick bite that is also free of charge, Crown Grill the steak house is a outstanding for a $25 charge - worth every penny! Beautiful Spa adult pool - treat yourself for a morning or afternoon at the Sanctuary ....worth the slight up charge....all the crew will say hello to you wherever you are. Your cabin steward will greet you by name every time he see you! You will not be disappointed!

  13. Nadine - I remember I also on the Divina the week prior to you last year! We just returned yesterday again! Well, I have to agree with you Nadine on many of the issues you had we experiences the same ones! The Divina needs to make one adult pool! We sat at the aft pool with a million kids in diaper and many without! Yuck! I found the dining room food was just OK - sometimes not good at all! Our waiter would rush us to order then we would sit for 45 min. between courses. Easter dinner lamb was so tough that I could not even cut the meat. I went for a slice of pizza after dinner! Yes, pizza and pasta at the buffet was excellent. Several times I order a Mango Colada at the aft pool and the waiter would tell me they had no Mango Mix! Odd it was the second day of the cruise! Very few of the crew member ever smiled. Some passengers I found were very rude, cutting in lines, refilling their used water bottles at the buffet with the mouth of their bottle touching where the next person would fill their cups! Grossed me out! My cabin had a smell of cigar smoke thru the AC unit. Nasty! Yes, I found the cabins very clean Gave MSC two tries and I am finished! Prices was cheap so I guess you get what you pay for!

  14. I graduated from the Heffty 2.5 gal. bags to the discovery of E-Bags! I swear by them! I have several sets of the different sizes. For personal clothing I just unzip the bag and place in the drawers. I also repack dirty cloths into the larger bag as the week goes on and stick them back in my suit case. Frees up the closet and at the end of the vacation I am almost all packed!!
