  1. I'm driven a lot by value. Living in Florida, I have the chance to watch deals and book last minute.

Of course, value doesn't always equate to lowest prices. I never sailed an interior and there are some lines I won't consider at all. But that being said, the $80 or so per day deal I found on a deluxe balcony on my coming Princess cruise was great knowing the cabin typically goes for $125 or more. Likewise, I'd jump on the chance to sail Crystal again if I could find a sailing for $200-$250 a day, but I think that may just be wishful thinking! LOL

  2. And I thought I was being creative using the packing tape- looks like lots of fellow cruisers had the same idea. I've never had trouble with them. But just in case, I always put a full size piece of paper with travel and home contact info on top of my clothes before I shut each suitcase. I've been on the unfortunate end of not getting a bag back at the end of a cruise. It can't get torn off or go missing if it's inside the bag.

  3. It's a service industry. If you are comfortable showng your appreciation for the service you receive and have the means to do so, I see no reason why there should be a "limit" on how you choose to do so.

Many choose not to tip- and I'm respectful of that perspective as well.

It all comes down to what feels right for you. Personally, I recognize that I'm a late eater, and typically don't leave my stateroom for dinner until 9:00 or later. I tell my steward this the first time I meet them and usually give them an up-front tip of $20-$50 depending on the duration of my trip. I understand they will be making up my stateroom after their shift typically ends, and want to show my appreciation in advance.

It's never wrong to show gratitude.

  4. How is the package indicated on your cruise card? Is it just a sticker, or if you pre-purchase, is it printed on the card? I've used the program in the past on different lines and find the stickers don't last too long in the hot tub, and it can be a pain to get them replaced. It would be worth it to me to pre-pay just to have it permanently on my card.

Isn't it great that these are the biggest troubles we seem to have in the world?! :)

Thanks to everyone for all the great info!!!

  5. Might anyone happen to know what the menu rotation will be for the upcoming four day short trip out of Tampa? Ive got all the new menus, but am not quite sure what order they might be presented.

If anyone can clue me in to tips on finding this out for future sailings, I'd be very grateful.

    Thanks everyone! Happy cruising!
