  1. The information about the arrival time at reykjavik was given at around 10:30am, but yes it could have been more clearly at the night before, that „delay“ does not just mean 2 or 3 hours.

Anyway I get up at 6am and checked the map on tv. In this moment it was clear, that we will not arrive in the next hours.

The way to Reykjavík was really rough, but we had to do it, because there was no room left to arrive even later.

  2. Ok, we have some of them from different ships and companies, but I think they are no longer sold.

Last year we found one on the pearl, but its a little bit different, because the details are printed below the ship.

This year on the bliss and star, we had no luck.

  3. Today we decided to grab some coffees at the onboard Starbucks before the Cruise Critic Meet and Greet. You CAN use your physical Starbucks Card to purchase drinks. So I would think that you would accrue star rewards with your purchases. Unfortunately, I don’t believe that the phone app will work onboard though.

Oh no Starbucks is overcrowded, compared to the panama cruise.

Hopefully the staff can handle so much people at once. :-)

May I have a look to your key card?

Is this a special edition for this cruise or will they go with them in the future?

  4. I call it first world problems.

If the Bliss is not the right ship for you, look for another one.

In my opinion the Bliss is not the first choice for Alaska.

A 7 day cruise from and to Seattle is not the same like all the other cruises between Vancouver/Seattle and Seaward.

  5. I think it will be a very interesting future for the ship, especially for the fact that the average age of the cruisers was at 65.

So a different folk will lead to a different behaviour.

As already mentioned, the buffet is too small.

I saw an empty area in the front, but I am not sure, if they will use it for more tables.

We just adapted ourself to the small area in the following:

We picked our food and went down to the observation lounge instead of spending endless minutes to find a free table.

    About the atrium:

Its the same problem on every ship and In my opinion some kind of no go.

Due to the fact that the guest service is located there its likely, that you want to clarify something very important, but its not really possible to communicate. So this could not very nice.

    About the chair hogs:

Yes, they su**, but what su**s way more are people at the waterfront who abuse the tables for their feets. Especially if the put their bare feet directly on it.

Sorry, but whats going on in the head of these people?

  6. The mini golf area is somekind of BS.

They builded it during the panama canal cruise.

So I do not really understand why it was not possible to do it during the construction in Papenburg.

There are 4 table tennis tables, seperated by 2, but on our cruise most of the time it was used by asian power players :-)

In my opinion the gym is ok as long you are not bounded to much to the machines.

And the concept is better than on the normal breakaway class ships (2 seperated rooms for cardio and machines).

  7. While it should be 8 laps, its very likely, that they scam on you.

In my second race I was close to the slowest driver in round 7, while they suddenly stopped us at the box entry.

So a friend of me was in first place and able to make 8 laps, while we had do stop with 7 and 6.

    Thats not really fair.

Futhermore I think that the racing track will be no fun on a ship with many young people.

On the panamal cruise it was likely that only up to 15 people use the track per hour.

So if you are looking for a slot with not so many drivers, check the monitors on the decks, which will show you the available spots in a semi live mode.

  8. Actually I dont understand, why not all special restaurants have a dress code.

Especially the Cagney which is more a flagship restaurant then the Le Buffet.

My worst experience on the Bliss was a couple of 4 person in Cagneys.

The 2 women were ok, but the men, totally opposite of a normal weight person, worn shorts and flip flops.

In my opinion this is some kind of disrespect to the staff and the other passengers.

  9. Per the Live TA thread this note was on the bottom of the daily:

    OBSERVATION LOUNGE

For the comfort of all guest utilizing the Observation Lounge, please refrain from lying on the furniture or using the couches, chairs, and tables as foot rests.

This advice is necessary for the waterfront as well.

Its a shame how often we saw that on past getaway cruises.

    Some people have no respect.
