We're thinking of doing the Canal from San Diego to Ft. Lauderdale in January on the Zaandam. Do the Vista suites have the same cruising day bonus as the Signature and Neptune?
Thanks

As a another safety note, we use TSA approved luggage locks on our bag zippers. Luckily we've had no problems.

We are just devastated, but my husband’s back went out and we are cancelling. All I could see for canceling a HAL cruise is to write, email or fax them - no phone calls. I wrote this morning, hours ago, but haven’t heard anything back yet. I looked online and our reservation still shows. How will I know if it’s been canceled?
Should I call, too, but what number?
I need to hear from HAL to get in writing what exactly we will get back from them before I can complete my travel insurance claim. (We have HAL platinum and got travel insurance, too.)
Will HAL automatically refund to our credit card? I don’t want FCC that could expire before we are ready to use it.
Do I have to do anything about specialty dining reservations we pre-paid?
Any other tips or suggestions?
So worried about my husband in so much pain, but frantically trying to cancel flights, hotels, cars, etc. Feeling overwhelmed. Thank you in advance!

I know 1st hand your troubles. I too had to cancel our trip due to me getting a sciatica attack and a herniated disc at the same time. I couldn't walk without crutches for 8 weeks. Waiting on our insurance too.

We had to cancel our trip due to an injury. I have trip insurance and when I look on HAL it shows I have no credits. Do I assume that all my room credits and pre-cruise credits and deposits from COVID cancellation are gone and not refundable?
Thanks for the help.

Do Vista Suites get the same double star credit as the Signature and Pinnacle suites?
Thanks

THANKS to all. Since our cruise isn't until August 2022, there's time to see what changes are then. I was planning on bringing our limit when boarding, but thought just in case we needed more it would be possible.
Thanks again

Can you bring wine onboard during a port stop to be consumed on the ship even if you brought some onboard at the start of the cruise?
Thanks

If you scroll down to the very bottom of your invoice they give the precise itinerary. I am doing that same cruise tour in the reverse direction and yes, we have a HAL transfer from the airport until we board the ship at the end of our tour. It is included in our fare
Mary.... THANKS. I didn't pay attention to that detail. I see that we board a train to go from Anchorage to Whitter. Thanks for pointing that out. I appreciated the help.

We are going on a HAL Yukon/Alaska Land/Cruise in August 2022. I'm trying to find what the transportation is from Anchorage to Whitter is. I understand that this is the 1st year for cruise ships or at least HAL to sail from Whitter.
Thanks for the help.

We are booked for a Yukon/Alaska Land Cruise in Aug 2022. Does someone meet us at the Vancouver Airport hotel to move us to the airline for the flight to Whitehorse.
I understand from Denali to Anchorage is by the Alaskan Railway. We spend the night in Anchorage and the next day travel to Whitter for the ship. How do we travel to Whitter, by rail again or bus? I know it far away, but any help in what hotel stay would be in Anchorage?
Thanks for the help.

I thought when I booked our 2022 Yukon/Alaska 18 day trip that the agent said we got Shore Excursions, Specialty Dinning, Drink Package, WiFi and gratuities for a price. But I don't see any mention of the gratuities anywhere. Did I misunderstand what she said and that the gratuities were for the drink package?
Thanks for the help.

I got an email notice today that Travel Guard has approved my refund in a voucher to be used by April 2022. I'd say great job they've done no matter what others think.

I don't think you're entitled to a refund. You bought insurance in cases where you could not travel and you're going to be reimbursed by the cruise line for your expenses. What more do you want?
1st of all we purchased the insurance for trip interruption and medical emergencies. 2nd the trip and insurance effective date wasn't scheduled until August 12, 2020. 3rd HAL cancelled ALL land portions of Alaska cruises for 2020. I'm sure the Canadian government had something to do with part of it for the Yukon.

As anybody had success at getting a refund on their travel insurance from a 3rd party insurer like Travel Guard because your cruise was cancelled by the cruise line 4 months before sail date?
Thanks

In the 3rd week of June 2002 we sailed from Seattle Northbound. After coming out of the inland passage we encountered 18ft swells and gale force winds. Rough seas! On the return from Hubbard Glacier we had the same situation BUT the ride was MUCH smoother. Reason being the ocean current flows from North to South so you're going with the current instead of fighting it.

Does somebody happen to have a day to day program of the Y1L:18-Night Yukon+Triple Denali land first, then cruise tour?
I have searched of the board and only found one from 2016, which is different from the current one, so input would be greatly appreciated in preparation of our long-term plans for such an adventure.
I know and have the brochures and information on the website, but I would like to know what the day to day program looks like, with regards to included excursions and which days have no planned excursions or program.
Thanks in advance
I have one for August 2019 in a PDF if that helps. Don't know if it can be inserted or how.

We did this trip last October. As mentioned, formal night is more like business casual. Some suits, most women dressed in log dresses. We enjoyed the trip so very much. Be prepared to do a LOT of walking and climbing of steps if you go on any excursions.

I'm thinking of doing this trip from March 30 to April 23. I assume it is a repositioning trip. Is the weather OK or are there any concerns?
Thanks for everyone's opinions and ideas.
