  1. My FP sends me a separate letter showing my ownership. I then email it to HAL. Sorry, I don’t have that email address with me as we are traveling.

You also might check when you do a b2b cruise or a longer cruise hat has several segments. If you book them separately you can get OBC for each booking. It isn’t always cost effective, but definitely worth looking at. On our SA cruise we got a great deal on one segment. The cruise was actually cheaper pricing it separately plus we got $250 OBC for each segment. So, definitely ask.

  2. I am never bored on a cruise ship. I like to read, sometimes on the deck where I can also people watch. I enjoy walking around each deck, sitting by the pool, etc. I just don’t let myself get bored, but I don’t have to be busy every minute. I agree, cruising may not be for you.

  3. I have gotten sick since birth...lol...true though. When I was little a doctor told my parents to give me coke syrup, someone else said to have me suck on a lemon...believe me, I have tried everything! The sea bands do not work for me and yes, I was placing them properly. The patch works, but I got blurred vision and I like to read. Dramamine is only somewhat effective. I was turned on to Cinarizina(Stugeron) by a friend. I buy it in Mexico. I am not sure if it is available in the US. There are side effects as with any drug. This one CAN make you drowsy. If the seas are rough I am better in my cabin relaxing anyway so it isn’t a big deal. It only makes me drowsy if I have downtime. If I am busy I don’t notice. I can honestly say that I have never gotten sick on/in any vehicle since I started using these 4 years ago...this from someone who has actually “lost it” on ferries, planes and ships. As Keith stated, you have to find what works for you and you should check with your doctor about any interaction with your other meds. I have had people tell me to just look at the horizon...don’t lay down or shut your eyes....well, for me, the best thing is to lay down and shut my eyes. So, there is no one fit for everyone. You have been given some great info here. Hope you come up with something that works for you. Have a great time.

  4. Went in and looked at Geoblue... we spend app 4 months each year in Mexico. The limit on their insurance is a 70 day max trip. I have found that to be true on some cc insurance also. It requires you to have a primary health insurance plan. We use Liberty Health share which is not an insurance plan. I will do more research, but those 2 factors could prove to be a problem for us with the long term/evacuation insurance.

  5. Hlitner...you stated...DW and I travel (internationally) 6-7 months a year. For us, trip insurance would be ridiculously expensive. We do purchase an ANNUAL Travel Medical policy that provides us with $250,000 of medical coverage and $500,000 of medical evacuation coverage

I am wondering where you get this annual policy. Thanks...

  6. I found this whole thread very interesting. I am surprised no one cited the times the airlines have had a mispriced flight posted. I got a round trip from my small airport to a Phoenix for $39 years ago. Saw it on the news a couple days later...tons of people took advantage of a pricing error... I have seen it reported on the news more than once. It usually gets caught within hours but the prices are honored. People who are on those price monitoring sites jump on that. Quite sure they don’t call the airlines to ask if it is true and you know they know it is a mistake. Not agreeing or disagreeing with any poster here, just pointing out another industry snafu and how it was handled...
