Just spoke with Seabourn. Unfortunately for our sailing on Feb 17 Encore, they will be transitioning TK into Solis. So no TK nor Solis for us to book. Guest Relations have not been told what the plan if any is for those of us on this sailing. Bad timing for us!

I have just spoken to Seabourn to clarify dates as on the Encore for a month before you board.

She said she attended a meeting at the start of the week and then referred to the email sent out following the meeting to confirm the restaurant will close on Encore on February 17 and the plan “is for the work to be done in a week but obviously work can overrun” 😀

She also confirmed the new restaurant will additionally be using the outside seating.

I received an offer from my TA in UK for a January sailing, it was basically a forwarded  letter from Seabourn with the upgrade offer. PH suite on Venture for £499 per person and wintergarden for I think £3299 pp.

Assume you are referring to January 23? Ie not receiving an offer now for January 24

The upgrade offers we have received have come directly from Seabourn, not from the several travel agents we have used to book the cruises.

I understand the offers come from Seabourn but they only appear to go to certain agents - mine not being one of them 😀

I am not a grandmother, but we too are on this crossing from Lisbon.  And we too were offered an upgrade to the Peel-Me-a-Grape Suite and we took it.  It was a very good buy.

Does your travel agent normally have upgrade offers?

On same sailing but no upgrade offers coming my way, jealous.

Assume this means that only selected agents receive these upgrade offers.

How do you determine which agents receive them?

Assume no use asking agent as they are quite likely to say yes they do regardless !

If you did not pay for full purchase price for the suite, and few would,, you don’t even receive those few perks.    We found the perks with the Spa Suite to be better than the owners suite.   Our stewardess always had some wonderful surprise for us in the cabin. One evening she had the tub all set up with roses and special spa products.   We have another booked for an April cruise but since we didn’t pay the full brochure price we won’t get extra points even though we are paying substantially more than those in the regular veranda.

Can I ask what you mean by not paying full brochure price and thus not receiving extra points? People say don’t get extra points if do an upsell, but assume you are not talking about an upsell as you say your cruise is only on April.

  7. We have just been allocated suite 805 which we are very happy with unless someone on Cruise Critic has had a poor experience?

Nine days to go and counting down.:D

More interested that you were given a V4 and have previously sailed with Seabourn.

Most first timers we have met on OB were usually given a V6

Interesting to see if this new rule is implemented for no first time Seabourn cruisers!

  8. Booked a number of OB bookings on Seabourn in last few years and have been allocated V4 / V5 / V6.

Read latest booking today and there is a small paragraph amidst all the wording stating an OB booking will be allocated a V1 - V4.

Anyone noticed that before? Is it new?

My travel agent didn’t mention it but it is clearly stated in paperwork he sent me.
