Juneau for salmon.... you go out of Auke Bay and get to see whales too. Ketchikan for halibut (they're small (20lb) but tasty.

We are cruising in mid June. My husband would like to fish either salmon or halibut while we are there. Juneau or Ketchikan are our 2 best choices. Does anyone have a recommendation in either port?

Thank you for the input. We love wildlife and water. Outhouses don’t bother us but we also want to get the most out of our time. The car rentals are pretty pricey. We are renting one in Juneau but would rather do something different in Haines. I’ve looked some more and they have a high speed ferry that goes between Haines and Skagway. Has anyone tried this?

We will be in Haines on the Grand Princess in Mid-June. What are some of the best things to do? I was looking at the pontoon ride on the lake. Has anyone done this before?

We will be on the June15th one. We do have credits for our account for $350. We just want to make sure we have enough to cover any holds on our card. I’ve read about some cruise lines holding $60 a Day per person in your cabin!

My father-in-law is taking us on a 10 day cruise to Alaska in June. My dh and I have never been on a cruise. How much of a hold will they put on our Credit card when we board? There are 4 of us in our cabin. Thank you!
