Also, just noticed there are no June reviews posted...wonder if they wait until the next month.! You would think publishing in a timely manner would help better!

Good question! I hope it wasn't lost en route, because it was lengthy. How long does it take them to publish them, I wonder? I did get an email response saying, "thanks for submitting your review".

We got to meet Errol Nelson on our Volendam cruise last week. He always stopped to talk to us and sent us chocolate dipped strawberries to our cabins. Really nice man!

I am planning on the Last Chance Mining Basin. Can you give me input on this? I believe I read also that only way to get there was by a tour, is that correct?

A bit off OPs situation, but still food related.

We always carry snack foods when we travel, because of the flights and kid’s are always hungry, right? Some items will be opened while others may not. Are y’all saying that we would have to eat everything or toss it, if already opened, before getting on ship?

What about children? Not worried about 17 year old daughter, but my 12 year old son. Are kids even allowed in the MDR and Pinnacle?

I spoke to an agent at HAL about this today and was advised gala nights had that dress code, men in collars with slacks, women in slacks/skirt/dress.

So, let me ask this....what about on port days? Are the MDR and specialty restaurants still dressy, or can you wear jeans? I hate to pack a special outfit for one nights wear.

We had TA print all our docs, plusshe gave us nice luggage tags.

Does anyone know if there are extra blankets in the Vista Suites (Volendam), for use on the balcony in Alaska? Or, should I plan to bring one? My mother is always cold.

I will still be happy and those reasons are exactly why I chose the Volendam. I just heard about the refurbishments and got excited.

The new website shows the rooms looking like new hotel rooms and very nice. After reading reviews I am getting nervous that the cabins will look like the old pics. From what I read/heard early on, I thought the whole ship was getting an overhaul, or at least all cabins. This is our first cruise and want it to be nice.....still gonna keep An open mind and good thoughts.....sailing early June on upper decks.

Agree...not user friendly. Finally found info on the cabins. Hope all cabins are done for our June cruise on Volendam, as site shows.

Research what is included in dog cart portion. I was told it was a 15 minute session, with other people in cart too. Once everyone is on board, the cart goes....loading/ride together being 15 minutes...and on a dirt track.

Ship departure is 4:30pm, what time should I set for hotel pick-up? When will I know my boarding time?

Ship returns at 7am, flight is currently 11:42am. What time again, as I don’t know when we will get off ship. We are self-disembarking .

Agree, I went looking for it also. My agent also unaware they had done away with the programs listed below.

They also got rid of car rental insurance and travel protection program, forget exactly what it was called.

We are a party of 8, 3 generations. Want to make this transport from airport hotel to port simple for elders. We are doing a limo for sure, on the return. But, to the port, could we get one taxi for all of us? Or, should we do the limo both ways? I get a fare of 100 each way on limo.

Does the taxi drop curbside at port, or is there alot of walking?
