It's also perfectly fine, acceptable, and less expensive to travel with none of the extra stuff. Prescription medication should always travel in your carry-on bag, whether you are traveling by sea or by air. Having your passport info stored on your phone is simple and also a good idea.

I think a lot of newer travelers see a list like this and think they have to buy all. the. things. In reality, you will figure out what you need and what you do not the more you cruise. Why put extra money into things that you will never use and just take up packing space? YouTube has thousands of videos showing cruiseline content and the videos give you a great idea about space, storage, electrical outlets, etc. Plus watching YouTube videos is free.

When going through customs in another country (Australia), I was wondering if you need to have your medication in an original prescription bottle OR can you just have a copy of the  prescription.  I get my prescriptions in a 90 day supply and will only about a 30 day supply.  I hate to tote around those huge bottles if I don't have to.

  2. Just a note about the EZ check.  I used this on the last cruise and loved it although it was just for convenience and didn't have a late flight.  I get free checked bags with my credit card; however, I was issued a baggage fee through Princess even though I told them the bags were paid for.  It was no problem getting a refund when I arrived home.

  3. Reading all the comments about FCD makes me think what a good idea that would be.  We are sailing on a B2B in March to Australia/New Zealand and could certainly do this.  My question is, we also just booked a 14 day cruise for September 2025.  Should I check the price of this cruise when we return to see if there is a better price and use the FCD or ask the future cruise reps about rebooking at a lower price?

I do not have any OBC on the 2025 cruise as I prefer to book my own cruises on the site.  I find I can make adjustments, watch the price for a decrease, make changes myself rather than wait for someone else to do it. If I were to book a cruise on the ship, is that like booking with a travel agent?  OR would I have control over this booking?  Hmmm.....

  4. I love my kindle; however, my husband loves a book.  We will be looking for a library on the Majestic next month.  As a side note, 3 of my 5 grandkids have their noses in books constantly.  They even "sneak read" under the covers with a flashlight after lights out!!  Good problem as I see it!

  5. I always have an issue with the website.  I get booked out at any time while using it, various tabs are not available so I have to go back in at a later date, can't log in easily, etc.  If you get a can't log in message, just keep hitting enter and finally it will let you in.   Not sure how to handle the other issues.  I want to be able to print a travel summary when I need it; not when the website is working enough to allow it.  I want to look at excursions now; not someday when they decide to work. This has been going on for years.  I have addressed these issues with Princess with no answer.

  6. I booked the New Zealand / Australia as B2B cruises.  The price on the New Zealand went down considerably.  My travel agent was able to get the price adjustment with no problems.  I always keep a watch on my cruise prices and don't hesitate to call Princess to get an adjustment.  I have done this with other cruises in the past also.

Thanks  I have another question do you have to fill out the shoreside payment method also?

I did not have to do this when I filled out the ship account; however, my husband could not proceed in the app until he filled in the information.  ???

  8. Today I received an e-mail from the US Embassy in Mexico City. I signed up for these security alerts. Effective immediately US government personnel are permitted to travel to all parts of Playa del Carmen and are also permitted to use the ferry services between Playa del Carmen and Cozumel. Hope this helps. We will be in Cozumel next week and had originally planned to go to Tulum. Not sure what we will do but glad to see that things are settling down a bit.

  9. I am in an ***** room on the 3/25 sailing. I received a letter from Princess as mentioned in this post. The letter explained the ***** benefits and also mentioned that a hold would be placed on my room so I would not receive any upgrades. If I wanted to be eligible for an upgrade, I was to call and possibility be taken out of an ***** room. Hmmm....what to do! I chose to stay in an ***** room. I guess I wasn't prompt enough in calling to confirm the details of shipping me the *****, so Princess called me. I chose to have the medallion mailed but have not received it yet. I will check out the working functions to the ***** and report back when I return at the end of our week.

  10. Just got off the Regal on 2-4-18, was in one of the 110 cabins with *****. Not worth the hassle. We were advised by ***** staff that it will be some time before entire ship is converted. Hopefully it will work properly on our Aug cruises but I'm not holding my breath.

Were you able to use Facebook Messenger or other instant messaging as part of the ***** ? It is advertised as part of SocialOcean. That would be a benefit of ***** so I could keep updated on an ill parent while on vacation.

  11. I heard another person say that, thanks for the reminder. I'm going for an eye check later this year and will ask about it. I think it's time since we love to snorkel & I'd love to see better to take photos.

I used a prescription mask on an excursion in Hawaii last year and was thrilled with the difference in what I saw. I am sailing on the Regal Princess in March so decided to purchase a prescription mask of my own, I am pleased with my experience working with Snorkel-Mart and placed an online order. After trying out 3 different masks, I found one that I feel will enhance my snorkeling experience. I worked with a rep from this company and was able to have a return label included with my order to send back the masks I didn't need. Definitely have your optician right down your prescription to make it easier to place an order. I believe the cost for the mask was around $67. Now when I go to Princess Cay for a day of lounging in the sun, I can easily snorkel whenever I wish.

  12. Hey Lor74. We are on the same ship and patiently waiting for the sun. It's trying! Just wondering if you heard the rumbles we did last night? We overheard a couple people got sick yesterday after lunch. I came up for breakfast this morning and noticed the servers switching out utensils from the buffet. I know this is a common practice but perhaps it was just more noticed because we heard people were sick? Just wondering if you had heard anything. Enjoy your day in cozumel. We are off to the cenotes.

How were the cenotes? I will be on this ship at the end of March and we were thinkng of doing a combined ruins and cenotes. We are looking at this because it gives you almost 2 hours at ruins and 2 hours at cenotes. The ruins only trip gives you only 50 minutes at ruins and I have read that this is not enough time.

  13. There are two options if you are concerned about them tracking you in the bathroom.

    1. Leave you're medaliion on the bed when you go into the bathroom.

    or

    2. Wear a tin foil hat when using the bathroom :D:D:D

    :'):'):')

  14. We are also on this cruise and so far enjoying every minute. Much to my surprise we were sent to the Medallion area for embarkation and we have the ocean medallion. So far it has worked quite well and everyone knows who we are when we get close to them. Went to Alfredo's last nite and they greeted us by name just by seeing our pix pop up for the Medallion!

Super entertainment music in the piazza after boarding and the food in Alfredo's was terrific. Love our cabin (Lido deck) and really enjoyed watching Churchill before bed last nite - great movie about the days before the invasion. Our cabin steward is Ranjit and he is awesome.

Glad to hear the Lido deck was a good choice for you. We booked a mini-suite there for an end of March sailing. I had an inside cabin years ago with my daughter and loved that we were close to pools and eating.
