We have only just booked our RC cruise from HK to Japan in August. A reunion cruise for 3 couples. None of us have sailed RC before. We wish we had scanned the reviews before we did because we wouldnt have booked otherwise. Approx 80 to 85% of reviews are damning. Sub standard dining, price gouging, hidden unadvertised extra fees for this and that and a tired ship (Voyager of the Seas. The list goes on. The wife of one of the couples is a tea totaller but finds that RC insist on her purchasing a bev package because her husband wants one. Duh! Our cruise was not advertised as a "Culturally" driven one. BUT yesterday we were advised via email what the full ramifications were. I just pray that all we have heard is partially untrue. We always cruise on Celebrity ships and swear by them. Can anybody ease our concerns? I can understand the reasoning for a Cultural cruise but re branding food outlets is ludicrous to say the least.

After reading all the negative and horrible reviews of Royal Carribean's Voyager of the Seas. Just how many cruisers agree that all of these reviews are bona fide? I cant believe that the cruise line or the Voyager specifically can attract such a high Editors rating. We wish we had read the reviews before booking our cruise because we are not looking firward to it. Any one agree?

This is my first go at reply/review. I hope Im in the right place. Royal Carribbean. Whats going on? How in the heck does a cruise line with so many negative and horrible reviews get an editors rating so high? We have always cruised with Celebrity but thought we might book a cruise on Voyager of The Seas. We've paid for it unfortunately. The reviews and thats nearly every one have been horrible. From the ships condition to horrible food and under staffed bars. Price gouging on drinks and just about every other hidden costs. We are devastated. We cant honestly believe that a ship could be so bad in so many ways. Yet it has a high editors rating. We wont cruise P&O nor MSC or Norwegian all because of all the stories we read. Our expectation is that after our cruise on Voyager of the Seas that we wont be cruising Royal Carribbean again either. You just cant beat the Celebrity fleet of ships and the ratings confirm that. My question to the Editor is. Have you ever sailed with Royal Carribean or more specifically the Voyager of the Seas? How do you justify your rating.(n)(n)
