  1. My first cruise will be on the Oasis August 19th and I’m already being nickel and dimed before setting foot onboard. Here is the situation...I have a medical letter so I can waive the drink package well 2 phone reps have tried to convince me to get the regular drink package and I’ve had to explain yet again no soft drinks and I have to avoid sugar so I wouldn’t get my monies worth. They then press on telling me I really need to purchase it even though my balcony cabin comes with a soda package that I won’t use. I’m just so annoyed that I’ve spent all this money on this vacation and they are relentless before I even step on the ship. Is there anyone to voice these concerns to at Royal? I’m getting a bad feeling about how it’s going to be once we’re on the ship. Am I being set up for a week long sales pitch?!?

  2. We are sailing on the Getaway in a 2-family Haven suite. We were assigned suite # 15124, but I see that a suite in the same category just opened up in the 16th deck.

    Which deck is better?

Must be nice even having the chance to pick one room in the Haven, let alone two! Rub it in!

  3. So disappointed that NCL is no longer offering sailings from/to Vancouver to Alaska. Our family, 8 of us, want to do an Alaska cruise next summer but there is no way some are flying into Vancouver and then trucking down to Seattle to catch a ship. Not to mention that we don't want to cruise on the mega ships. I have Platinum status but my next trip is on Princess for the California Coastal because Norwegian's Pacific coast itinerary is poor. I guess the Canadian market is not that attractive to NCL.

The Jewel which is smaller will be based out of Vancouver every other week going to Alaska (one way to Anchorage). Not sure why you got upset without knowing all the facts.

  4. Does Joy add capacity in the summer Alaska market (adding to Bliss and Jewel), or does Jewel stay in the Aussie market year round - cancelling her 2019 Alaska itineraries I wonder?

Jewel does Vancouver-Anchorage one way trips in 2019.

  5. That’s a good idea. Do they charge a lot daily?

    Zoryana ❤️

Depends on cruise line. Usually around $13 or more per person per day which really isn’t a lot when you see all you are getting.

  6. I want to add...the dinner on Carnival is one of the reasons we were always reluctant to try other lines...we enjoyed the experience so much and didn’t think the setup on other lines would be as awesome, personal, and interactive.

With that gone, and Carnival prices on par with other lines now, we’ll be shopping around for our next cruise. Considering NCL.

So you complain about having the waiter/asst waiter setup and getting to know you and then you mention NCL where you probably won’t even be at the same table for dinner cause it’s Freestyle with no set times.
