Switching Cruise Lines & Loyalty Programs in Ask a Cruise Question Posted August 12, 2018 G'Day, The situation is where passengers have repeatedly used the same cruise line, and are established in that cruise line's loyalty program. Followup cruises may get them offers not available to new passengers (ie, upsells, etc). What if, they would like to switch to another cruse line they've never been on before? Do any cruise lines offer any incentive to pull passengers away from their "loyalty-program" cruise line? Caveat is they would become newbies on their choice of different cruise line, and even unqualified for up-sell offers, etc (on their first cruise on a different cruise line). During a past cruise, an "esteemed" guest lecturer told me that within the Carnival system, that switching to another Carnival owned cruise line, I would have to start over from the bottom with a new loyalty program, no exceptions. Hence, according to her, no incentive to change from one Carnival owned line to another. Thanks.
