  1. I agree on avoiding ribs!! Nachos are great , fajitas are phenomenal. You can get nachos as appetizer, combo fajitas for lunch, an then a dessert. Plenty to eat !!

  2. I have been to Nachi many times, and never had an issue with the palapas! The waiters were great and you shouldn’t have a problem. I found it best to go straight from your ship to the taxis as soon as you can to enjoy the beautiful beach. You can return a little early to do some shopping so you don’t have to carry stuff to the beach. Enjoy !!

  3. Any suggestions for a fabulous first cruise preferably out of New York port. Never went on a cruise [emoji568]. Is there an up charge to travel alone?:) Looking for an enriching opportunity to relax and socialize . Suggestions appreciated .

I am 67 and been cruising as a single many times. We do take a “hickey” in cost, almost twice as much. But if you are going to experience cruising, you have to do it. I think a seven day Caribbean cruise is the way to start. 3-4 days really isn’t long enough to relax. I would stay away from the party, party atmosphere cruises. Won’t mention a line here, but everyone knows who they are. I’ve tried the singles meet on some cruises, but never had much luck with them. I have gotten lonely before, but also have traveled with others as a group which helps. I , for one, like the mega ships, but that’s just me. Others differ. My suggestion—- Royal Caribbean seven day western Caribbean!!! For what it’s worth!!

  4. Chank will offer better snorkeling than Sanchos and PB, but comes with a $20 per adult admission. Separate small beach, small pool, pay as you go for food/drinks, plus sea lion and other shows that may attract your kiddos. Taxi for 4 will be about $11-12 each way.

Sanchos is better for all-inclusive (food & drinks for about $50/adult) and offers water toys (extra fee) that your kiddos may enjoy. Multiple pools and a lively atmosphere. Taxi will be about $17 each way.

PB offers better facilities and a HUGE pool, plus water toys (extra fee) all for a $3 admission fee/chair rental. Strictly pay as you go for food/drinks. The beach has some rocky areas compared to Sanchos or the beach area at Chank.. Taxi for PB will also be about $17 each way.

None of the 3 will offer everything you want. You might consider stopping at Money Bar for an hour or two of good snorkeling from the shore and then heading to PB for the rest of the day. Mitsugirly is a frequent poster and did this on a recent cruise - check out the reviews linked in her signature for lots of photos and details.

Have a great cruise! :D Please come back after your cruise and post a review of whatever you choose.

You might want to look at Nachi Coccum. It’s next to Sanchos. All inclusive with calm water, nice pool and great food!!
