  1. We live in Atlanta, most school systems are breaking the first or second week of April because most schools are out before Memorial Day. We will be cruising the first week of April with our 4 and 6 year old, too. So, I would assume you would have a somewhat lighter crowd towards the latter part of April. I can't speak for other schools systems that start later than we do. Honestly, the only way to avoid crowds would be to sail when everyone is in school, which would require you to pull your kids out.

  2. With the exception of the very first KSF promo they ran, they all have had blackout dates that include the majority of times when kids will be out of school. Blackout dates are typically during spring break season, summer break season (starting at the end of May), Thanksgiving week and Christmas/New Years sailings.

We got lucky! Our spring break is the first week of April and were able to take advantage of the promo!! [emoji119]

  3. We just booked a panoramic room on deck 12 for our family (kids are 5 and 3 yr old) for the April 1, 2019 trip to Western Caribbean. Given it’ll be spring break, I’m little concerned about being able to use Kids club. I heard there are only 30 spots per age group. Tips on how to get them in would great. Also, curious about some possible shore excursions to Costa Maya and Cozumel with a 3 and 5 year old. Lastly, any feedback about Indy for a young family would be much appreciated!

  4. So I know RCI runs promos all the time, but the current kids sail free is good through April or May of next year. We’d rather sail in June, but could also go in April 2019.

Would you wait to book in hopes of kids free pops up, or go ahead and book the April date?

  5. This will be our first cruise with kids. We just returned on NCL Getaway so have no clue what to expect out of RC. I’m currently debating between Brilliance of Seas (western Caribbean) or Enchantment of Seas (Bahamas) for spring break with young kids (3 and 5). I’m leaning towards Brilliance mainly because it’ll be a little warmer. However, I read Brilliance was geared towards an older demographic. Can any speak about the pool for kids, family activities, etc? Also, would use risk booking an ocean view guaranteed room if that’s all that is left? Thank you!

  6. Was on her Oct 2017 Med cruise and April 2018 Spring break cruise

Now headed back on her Baltic cruise next month Aug 2018.

Only complaint the assortment of entertainment is poor but the ship is fine!

Food, service and staff are great!

When you say poor assortment of entertainment, are you referring to shows at night?

  7. Not true. Not all reservation times are released online. You can make reservations for almost any time you want as soon as you board.

We were told the same thing, but this was not our experience in June. We booked 2 of the 3 in advance and planned to book the last reservation once on board. Once we got on board on the first day, the only reservations available were 9:30pm reservations. Thankfully the sushi restaurant was excellent and didn't accept reservations.

  8. We just returned from the W. Caribbean cruise on the Getaway in June. If you got the specialty dining package, book your specialty dining as soon as you can, I think it's 90 days out. Otherwise, you're stuck with 9:30pm reservations. We ate at Cagney's, Ocean Blue, and the Sushi place. All were great, and we were super full afterward. What kind of cruiser are you? My husband and I are in our 30s and had a blast people watching on the pool deck. We were a little disappointed with the size of the ONLY adult pool, but made do. Got any other pressing questions? I could write more, but not sure what you want to hear about.

  9. This decision seems so extreme. We just got notified of this change and are VERY disappointed with the new itinerary. My husband and I have been to Mexico several times and were excited about seeing other parts of the Caribbean. I know this is part of cruising, but really?? I'm contemplating rebooking with Royal Caribbean, who still has a Southern/Eastern Caribbean itinerary. Any insight from experienced cruisers would be appreciated.
