We are Americans on the Deliziosa for next years World Cruise, leaving from Venice on January 5, 2020.  I am interested in any comments, because I am getting nervous about the many negative comments.

Costa has changed the itinerary, dropping two stops (Corfu and Haifa) and adding Messina and Bari in Italy.  Now I wonder what else Costa may change. And I also see that you can reserve a sunbed for 560 Euro and now I wonder if there will be any sunbeds available for free.

Hi Lynn, I saw this about the sunbeds too, but if you read further I think you'll notice that it's in an 'adults only' area so the charge is probably for those who want peace and quiet haha!  Still not a guaranteed sunbed though - I'll keep my money for something a bit more tangible... like drinks! 🍹

  2. Like some, we were cautious about using an online tour company for the first time and read many reviews before deciding on Joe Bananas Limos through their italytoursharing.come website. We organised an 8 passenger group for their tour SAL003: Pompeii with guide, Positano and Amalfi out of Salerno and had an absolutely wonderful day from start to finish - we can't recommend them highly enough (and already have!). Our driver Ciro was waiting for us as we disembarked the ship and was charming and considerate throughout. He was obviously familiar with and expertly drove the very narrow coastal roads in the area. Ciro was very knowledgeable about all the areas we visited, answered any questions from the group and didn't feel that he had to talk all the time - a VERY good thing in my books! Our guide at Pompeii, Roberto, was amazing. He was very funny without being disrespectful, inclusive of all in the group and obviously passionate about his job and the site without lecturing to us - I will always remember that awesome visit to Pompeii. When having time on our own, Ciro asked us how long we would each prefer to spend at each point, after giving us information on each stop. We were always shown where and when to meet back at the meeting point and any recommendations he had for that stop. He was also very reassuring when it came to making sure that were back in good time for the ship's sailing schedule.

Bottom line - If Joe Bananas can do a tour you want at a price you are happy with, I suggest that you book it and leave it to them - in a few words: professional, dependable, worry-free and very enjoyable.

  3. Which drink card was this?

I suggest that you to ask about it at a bar every day. We just came off Vision last week and saw the $85 for 10 drinks on the pool bar counter on the LAST night - what a shame as there was no mention of this in the Cruise Compass daily rag. Take note too that Casino Bar had $2 Mimosas from 12-1pm on sea days (go for the doubles for great value!).

  4. Thanks so much

Hi, we just came off Vision last Thursday (7th June) and they do indeed have a Ben & Jerry's (they charge for ice creams, specialty teas and coffees - no charge for cookies, cakes, pastries etc). Served in dreadful paper cups with wooden stirring paddles unless you ask for china/ceramic. One thing we learned was to order regular size (in their silly paper cups) and take with us two china mugs from Windjammer then decant our coffees into the mugs - more bang for your buck..... Cakes come on melamine plates with plastic spoons. So much preventable landfill if they put a few more staff to clear in this area.
