Once you get on the ship in Yokohama, immigration laws do not permit you to get off the ship.
-
Boarding times are assigned to everyone to facilitate boarding. Suite and Zenith have their own line to check in at, but there are expected to arrive at their assigned arrival time. They are not turned away if the arrive early only because they whine, " Do you know who I am?"
If they were permitted to arrive at their leisure it would be stated as such and arrival times would not be assigned to them.
There are lots of complaints on social media about the line ups, chaos, confusion and congestion at the terminal on boarding day. Most of it is caused by those of us not adhering to our arrival time.
So if your arrive time is 1PM and you are in the crowed terminal at 1030.....You don't have the right to complain.

Thank you very much. I will share that information with folks on our Roll Call.
How has the ship been so far? Service? Food? Entertainment? I know with a port intensive itinerary you might be tired when you get back to the ship each evening.
I was just in Yokohama in March on the Millennium. You can NOT get off after boarding in the morning because of Japanese Immigration.

Heated pools multiply bacteria, so no it’s a health hazard.
Really? Where are you getting your info from? Most ships have some form of heating or even hot pools. Celebrity, Carnival and even Princess.

Now, March 8 2024 Millennium Singapore to Yokohama cruise, kids are allowed in the solarium from 4pm till 7pm. Want to see the sign?

You do NOT need to. You CAN if you would like. It's likely both people in the cabin were given DOU by the casino check the fine print, but if not it's one of the rare occasions that you can have a drinks package with only one person in the cabin having it.

On any move up or promotional upgrade they only give you the points or the original category.

I have found that keepgo https://keepgo.refr.cc/seaestax and flexiroam http://roam.my/TU6624DF are they best and the cheapest. You can get global data for use anywhere that is valid for 360 days, useful if you cruise multiple times a year to the Caribbean and Europe or Asia.
They both have regional data plans but if you wait for a sale you can get the global package for only $30

That looks like a 6 day trip so no time for Juneau.

I was actually going to say Cambridge but decided to Google most prestigious universities and Oxford is what popped up.
I blame Google.
I do wish Carnival would status match but I doubt we would ever see that. I think a lot of Carnival diamonds who have matured out of Carnival would love the opportunity to carry their status to Princess or the like.
I guess the problem with status matching is the difference in the cost of obtaining the highest level in each cruise line.
Using an interior cabin as an example to get to highest tier, it takes approximately:
Carnival 28 weeks
Princess 15 cruises, can be as little as 30 days taking 2 day cruises, or 22 weeks by days.
Royal Carib 100 weeks
Celebrity 142 weeks
I'm sure I will be corrected if I am wrong

In the address section change your Canadian postal code to the American 5 digit format by taking the numbers only and adding two zeros. ie N5P 0C1 becomes 50100, ignore the letters/ This works at american gas pumps also.

I have found the WiFi problem to be ship wide and not concentrated in any one location.Starlink is not available in Vietnam so the ship falls back to it's older internet. Hence the slower wifi.

On November 11, 2023 we ended our B2B2B2B2B, 5 legs, on the Beyond in 5 different Sky Suites, 52 days. We started in Rome and ended in Fort Lauderdale. I Read all the comments/complaints before we boarded the ship and I must say, huh? What problems?
We had 2 different head butlers that brought coffee on request. Room service was prompt and accurate. We never moved our stuff from room to room, they did. We had fresh fruit on demand. Beers were delivered to the room for me to put in the fridge. The sunset sky suite is very far from the retreat lounge so the coffee that week was unusually cooler than I like it. The Magic Carpet Sky Suite veranda is larger than the others, but the bathroom doesn't look into the ocean. Luminae was perfect, Blu was great, and we avoided the 4 MDR's. Luminae staff was suggesting new items not on the menu after day 23 because the menu does repeat and 52 days is a lot.
This thread had us concerned for this trip. Nothing I read here is true in our case. We had a fantastic trip and will do it again Jan 3 to 27 on the Solstice. Same Sky Suite for 24 days so one butler. Maybe different this time. Hope not.

If your food is cold, why not send it back? Do this 2 evening in a row and you can be assured the rest of the trip will be hot. Be sure to tell the wait staff to NOT bring the mains from the kitchen at the same time as the starters. They sometimes do this because lotsa people want to eat FAST. Very few it seems want a 90-120 minute meal. We always explain how fast we want our meal delivered so have have very few issues with temperature of food.

Anybody in Retreat Class can dine in Blu, space permitting and space is always permitting if you are flexible. Suites can eat in 3 places, Aqua can eat in 2 and the rest of us in the MDRs

On Carnival, Juneau charges tax on drinks, Skagway and Ketchikan do not.
On Celebrity the taxes do not show up if you have a package soon they must be paying it for you.
-
If you want more butter, why not simply ask for it? Do this 2 nights in a row by the third night they will bring it.

Elegant night? What Carnival Ship has elegant night?

For 2023 the Solstice sails out of Vancouver only one time, the rest of the Alaska sailing are from Seattle. The Eclipse and the Millennium sail out for Vancouver for 2023.

The next time a couple gets identical casino offers, book two solo rooms. Adjoining if you want.... There usually are no solo surcharges on casino offers.
Are we allowed to leave the boat after check in on embarkation day?
