  1. Thank you all, that is what I was thinking but the closer it gets the more nervous I was that at the last minute something was going to come up that we needed to get or do. This is a very special cruise for my husband as he does not get to see her very often and would be crushed if we got to the ship and for some unseen reason she was denied boarding.

  2. My husband's adult daughter is a German citizen and is going to go on a cruise with us.  We are leaving from Miami with stops in Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, St Maarten, Antigua, St Thomas and Great Stirrup Cay. We know she needs ETSA to fly to the US but are getting conflicting answers as far as the cruise line. She holds a German passport. Does anyone know of anything else that needs for the cruise line.

  3. What is the difference between Booksafe (offered at time of booking) and Essentials (now showing available on vacation summary). We cruise in September and figured we would just take our chance but now since they have upgraded the number of expected hurricanes we are second guessing that decision. During booking I think it was showing like $124.00. Essentials is showing $50.00.

You need to think about buying 2 Cruise Next Certificates while on your NCL Cruise. You can buy 2 certificates for $250, and they are worth $500 toward future cruises. (Don't take the OBC.) They expire 4 years from date of purchase. Normally one certificate (worth $250) can be used for booking a 6 day or longer cruise that is 6 months or more out, for an inside cabin or ocean view cabin. You can use 2 (worth $500) certificates for a balcony cabin or above, with the same conditions. Right now NCL is running a Cruise Next Double Up Offer from August 1-31, 2019, where you can apply 2 certificates for any category. You need to talk to the Cruise Next People while onboard. They will be able to help you. If you book your next cruise with them while onboard, they will usually give you a free 1 level cabin up grade. You could sell one of your certificates to the family going with you, or buy extras for them.  The certificates can only be purchased while onboard.

I don't understand how the certificates work. We inquired about it on our last cruise and was told we would get 250.00 OBC and 250.00 towards next cruise. We didn't need any OBC so opted not to purchase. We have a cruise scheduled in September and another one for January. We talked about purchasing them in September for our January cruise but still really have no need for OBC. You stated don't take OBC is that an option? If that is the case I could see the benefit for us.

You think that's bad.... our 11 day sailing on Jan 5th is losing 3 ports and only getting replaced with one - Tortola. We lost Bonaire, St. Maartin, and St. Thomas in exchange for 2 extra "relaxing sea days" and Tortola.

As someone else mentioned already, we intentionally booked this sailing for the port heavy itinerary and low number of sea days. I hate sea days. Was curious to see if sailings on other dates were changed as well, and it seems almost random as to which ports were changed - unless some people didn't read their emails correctly.

Literally just got home from the POA an hour ago, so waiting for customer service to open up and give them a call regarding our options. We booked this trip in May 2018 - so we got a great deal with tons of perks. If I have to rebook now for a different sailing to keep the ports I want, it will probably not be worth it.

Plus we were planning on grabbing more cruise next certificates in January as we are now out of them. If I had to completely change my trip and rebook a new cruise, it would have been better to do it while I was literally just onboard and entitled to those perks when you book while on a current cruise. Not a happy camper right now...

We are also going to do the Jan. 5 sailing. We have not booked yet and just checked the website and they are still showing original itinerary. I wish they would update the website with the changes so we know exactly what we are getting in case we want to change.
