  1. I use a cpap, bring my own water in a bottle I was able to get from local hospital stating it is distilled water. I also carry my own 8' white ext cord in my cpap bag. I have never been told I could not use it, it has never been confiscated.

If I am going to be using it, we have always told our room steward and they have not had a problem with it. I always unplug it during the day and roll it up so it is out of the way.

Before taking my own, the two times I req'd one, they'd bring me the same cord I have at home. Thats why I just started carrying my own. Out of 10 cruises, I've used it 4 or 5 times.

It does surprise me that with the newer ships, very few seem to have plugs on at least one side of the bed for medical devices.

Also be aware that many "Caribbean" ports are actually in the Atlantic, like the Bahamas ports, and on your list, Key West.

I saw that post before I asked my question. I just figured there were more than what was listed. As I posted, there are more. But didn't know how many more.

    Thanks for the replies.

  4. We base our cruises off of where they are going. We are trying to hit all the locations in the Caribbean and the Bahamas. In 10 trips, we have hit a great many of them, some repeatedly.

I have searched online both in print and in maps/images looking for list of all cruise ports available. I do find several that list many of the ports, but they obviously leave out ports as well.

So far, one list I have found gives me 11 Western Caribbean, 10 Eastern Caribbean and 9 Southern Caribbean, with 5 more in Bahamas. While another list that does not break them down by E, W or S gives me 87 different ports.

Does anyone know of a complete list of cruise ports for the Bahamas and the Caribbean? We're not concerned with the cruise line nor with the size of ship said port can handle.

Thank you for your time and I will continue my searching.

  5. We have found a trip we're interested in, on the NCL Prima. In researching the ship, I am seeing those that say the ship is too crowded with its smaller spaces and venues, especially if bad weather. But I see others say its not so bad.

We're going on our 9th cruise in just a few weeks, so we are aware of what to expect on comparably sized ship.

My question is simple for those that have been on the Prima.

Based on your experience, would you take another cruise on that ship? Or would you prefer to cruise on a different ship?

    Thank you for your time.

    Have a Blessed day.

  6. The Queen found a cruise last night, for Jan 2025, aboard the Prima, out of Galveston. We've been on NCL before and do prefer them over the others. Have not been on these new class ships though.

I appreciate the comments here to help with our decision.

Being I have just started researching this ship, another complaint I have come across is the MDR menus. Is the menu the same thing every night or is it revolving/changing menus nightly?  I have heard both in the mere 30 minutes of research I have done this a.m.. Unfortunately, most of the reviews so far are pushing a year old. Maybe they have revamped that idea and more recent experience differ.

Any comments concerning the MDR's dining experiences would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

(we are leaving for a S Caribbean in 3 weeks on Princess. Not our line of choice, but liked the itinerary)

  7. We are booked on Seaside and I like to travel with plug-in style air fresheners for our room. We've sailed on RC Liberty and the ones from Bath and Body worked well, but then took them on RC Harmony and the outlets were sideways with shelving on top so they wouldn't work. Will they work on Seaside?

  8. I appreciate your replies. Good to know that both sides get the view. Up top sounds good to me, but if it's under 90*, the Queen thinks it's freezing out (she picked Alaska so it's not my fault). We'll try for an aft room. We've tried for aft on Caribbean cruises and they were already gone by the time we got to booking. Yeah, booking early is best I know, but have to work around other schedules ya know.

Thanks to all of you, and have a Blessed day.

  9. Mattb31, your point of there being some on the R/C threads that scoff at Carnival is the very reason I posted here. I knew from the get go there would probably be some diehard loyalists. All of you above seem to lean toward R/C, but you have spoken about Carnival in a more sincere way.

As a hot rodder, I am all about my Chevelle, and most other GM vehicles. I do like some Fords and a very few Mopars. My associate Pastor is GM & Ford, where our associate Pastor's father is a Mopar guy, and we have  blast ribbin' each other over it. It's not one is better (chevelles are😎), it's merely personal preference.

Ya'll have given me your personal preference while at the same time not coming out with anti-Carnival. I thank you for that. Gotta git now and go see which of the two Carnival cruises I may enjoy more.

Thank you everyone for answering. And let me also thank anyone now that post after this one.

  10. After 25yrs, my Queen finally got me on a ship, in water over my head, when we booked a Disney cruise in 2012, with our son. Now it's just the two of us, so we took to Royal Caribbean in '17 & '18. Liberty then Harmony. We loved it, (or should I say I loved it). The Queen turned me, wouldn't ya know.

We are looking for a cruise this year, and unlike previous years, the date is set in stone. In October. With that, about the only ones coming up in the allotted time is a couple of Carnival cruises. We have been told that Carnival cruises typically are...party barges, loud music and/or guests, overrun by kids, as well as being  full of drunks that lose their liquor in the hallways.

For those that normally sail R/C, but have sailed Carnival at least once, what is your opinion? Is it as stated above? I understand every cruise taken, even within the same line, can be totally different from trip to trip. We prefer to relax, have at least some peace and quiet, and able to find entertainment on ship that is not totally a kid activity, nor a 'mature audience only' entertainment. We do not drink or gamble, so those are moot points. Ships in question are Freedom and Magic into the Caribbean if it makes a difference.

Please let me know your opinions using R/C as the standard, so I can make an informed decision. Thank you so much for your help.
