Since this board is for solo travelers we should probably move this to a new thread and we can invite others from our cruise to join us there. I think I still remember how to start one. I'll set it up now and post the link here.

Thanks Laura and everyone for the well wishes. I decided I'm just going to go forward and plan for my cruise. My vacation is approved. I'm sick and that "shouldn't" affect my vacation. I know they won't like it, but they have rules they have to adhere to as well. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

There is still a lot of room on the Solstice 5-23-10. We'll meet you at Senor Frog's for more backwards tequilla shots. We still look at the pics of the Spirit Repo cruise, we had a wonderful time. We had the best CC group ever. Mike and Tracey

Wow..that is a toal bummer, I hope you will be able to go. How long are you out for? Best wishes for a quick recovery and hoping you get to cruise:)

Was out most of this week, then 2 more weeks. Problem is I return on 4/5 and cruise is 5/3.

Also other issues going on at work. Not looking good; but I have 5 weeks vacation this year and have taken only 3 days of it. Unfortunately I've had to take some personal (for elderly mother) and sick days (from same thing I was in hosp for). But, after 22 years you'd think they'd give me a break!

Say a prayer, keep your fingers crossed. Saddest thing this is the first time I'm actually going with a friend. I usually go solo - and have met some life-long friends (Hi Pat! Hi Jack! Hi Laura! and many not on the solo boards). Now my GF will have to go by herself - her first cruise to boot!

Update: if my job doesn't screw me over and renig on my vacation, since I'm out on sick leave - just out of hospital. :mad::(

Hi, I just did Celebrity for the 1st time this past Nov. on a TA and it was the best cruise so far, I loved it and can't wait to cruise w/them again! have a blast:D I went solo and it was fine, you meet people no matter what!

The Epic studios are well over a $1000 pp single occupancy for the cruise I booked in December '10. So glad we booked at $500 pp single (total) 2 weeks ago! We reserved 2 cabins that are adjoining (his/hers), so plenty of room for luggage and 2 showers-Perfect!!!

Laura, so you and hubby will share two studios for total $1000? do I understand that correctly? Great idea! What's the itinerary and length of cruise... Sure you don't wanna share with Pat & I :p!

I actually booked this a few weeks ago for 50% more $$ then decided I was nuts and couldn't afford it; now I'm contemplating again. There are some folks we cruised on the NCL Gem TA a few years back that were a riot - lots of gatherings and a great time; great group of people!

Oh... Jack, I'm with you. I'm tempted, have the $250 dep, but can't decide for sure.............. When's final payment? end of March?

Hi everyone. $999 for the NCL Epic studio for a single is the price (no supplement) for the TA. Well, that's better than the $1600 I was looking at a month ago :). Can't decide.

I just noticed that the single fare for ]Celebrity Summit departing 1/16/2010 (7 nts southern Carib out of San Juan) has dropped to $691. for a category 9 inside. This is a NYC resident rate. There's also a single outside rate for cat 6 outside for $811. total.

Good price! Will have to check out IL res rate... never know!

I am totally "jonesing" --- I HAVE to book a cruise soon! This is the longest I've gone w/o a cruise or planned cruise in over 5 years. ARRGGGHH! Can't do Jan, but gonna grab last-minute in Feb for sure!!
