  1. Spent 35 days on the Silhouette in Europe this Spring. Cruises were great.  BUT The new Concierge Class shampoo is AWFUL - either like glue or watery depending on the bottle. And it doesn't suds up at all. The dark blue containers have a tiny hole to pour out the shampoo. Passengers have complained to the concierges.  (We have been on 29 Celebrity Cruises and never had to bring shampoo before, even DH hated the new so I purchased shampoo ashore and will bring it in the future) I don't know what LLP was thinking doing this particular  changeover.

  2. Good morning also. I'm with you on the confusion about the whole "conversion"  My setting for order of posts and everything else seems to have gone missing. Can't even find where to link to the setting. Quite annoying.

  3. For me the main problem is the amount of white space and the blocks with light BLUE shading. And the Blue titles on the main page. I have difficulty reading blue for more than a few minutes. Eye strain after a few minutes. It would be nice to have an option to make all of the print black. Or go back to the old format...

  4. In addition to that concierge lounge apparently Oasis had a dedicated suite restaurant for all suites except junior suites, which don't get all of the suite perks. They can request on a space available basis on board.

Also, Andy, do set up the shows in advance. It can be done on the internet, which we did for most, also called their Crown and Anchor telephone number which did one for us and set up a specialty restaurant. The Diamond host got one of our times changed. Very helpful.

  5. We are just off the Oasis last week where we celebrated our 50th anniversary. First RCL cruise after 18 Celebrity cruises. (would have done Celebrity if they sailed from Florida in the summer) We liked the Oasis, the shows were good and lots to do. Celebrity will still be our "at home" cruise line, but we would go back on Royal in addition to other lines.

We loved the Diamond lounge. It is open with key card 24 hrs. They have a coffee machine with Capuccino, latte's etc which was available all of the time. Regular and decaf coffee Tea, and juice at breakfast time. (8 to 10AM) along with Bagels, english muffins, toast, lox, cream cheese, sliced cheeses, cold cuts, pastries and fresh fruit were available.

Did not see any alcohol except from 5 to 8:30 PM. They load 3 drinks onto seapass card to use in bars and lounges in the 5-8:30 time frame but we went to the lounge. No limits that I could see in the Diamond lounge . Staff was very helpful, friendly and professional. (throughout the ship actually) Diamond lounge open for drinks and food every night and morning including debarkation. (6:30 AM to ? - we left at 8 AM).

Evening appetizers were substantial and hot ones were hot, from a station that you went to to get what you want. From what I hear they moved the Diamond lounge to Deck 11 on Oasis in the recent refurb last fall. There were always plenty of seats.

They Internet was $15 a day, with a credit given to Diamond of 29.95. Eliminating the by the minute is a recent change at least on this ship. They still have a 24hr period available but don't know the details. They have other packages available but I don't recall the numbers, sorry. (I hope Celebrity stays with their plan and doesn't change! We like by the minute just to get email).

No free laundry, but a discount on wash and fold. Don't remember details.

Everything loaded on your seapass card and they give you a list of what's on there when you arrive.

Each Diamond can get a free picture from the printed ones that they make and put in your folder.

Hope this helps, and Andy, have a great cruise!

  6. I got my email for Nov 29 2016 Eclipse, but not for March 25 2016 Equinox . (And the link did not even work. Is anyone surprised????)

Fortunately we knew from cruise critic weeks ago. Eclipse trades Grenada for an overnight in Curacao. Equinox trades Dominica for overnight in St Maarten (not too happy about that one).

  7. Expect it to be confiscated and returned at the end of the cruise. Your luggage may be intercepted and not reach your room, and you will have to go to security to get your bag. Happened to someone on our deck on our last cruise (with a Leatherman). They had to pick it up at security in the Miami terminal. I also heard of this happening in Fort Lauderdale. Probably better to leave it home....

  8. The only problem with the safe for medication (as I see it anyway) is that their safe feels very warm from being on top of the mini-fridge. I always leave mine in a suitcase, fearing that the heat will change them. Any thoughts on that from those who know more?

  9. Back from the Eclipse Dec 7. If you don't see something on the menu that interests you in the main dining room, they do a great job of grilling meat and fish in the Ocean View at night. If you don't mind serving yourself you can get a great tuna steak done to your liking. Lots of other choices like other fish, steak, pork chops and chicken were offered. Sushi quality was better than last few cruises.

Love the escargot and onion soup!
