  1. Hi, we are glad to have gotten tickets from Vatican for Scavi Tour (Necropolis under St Peters) for Weds. August 1st. Tour starts at 1:30 and says approx 90 minutes so done at 3:00pm. I'm nervous about tight timing for return to NCL Epic - 7pm sailing so onboard required before 6:30pm. I viewed sample train schedule but not sure if I'm looking at it correctly. I think the very earliest we could maybe catch a train from S. Pietro station is 3:30 which gets into Port at 4:18. But likely might miss that train, so next train is 4:02pm gets into Port at 5:05 or if missed that then 4:32 gets into Port at 5:13pm. I know takes time to take bus from Civi train station to Port and then catch shuttle bus to ship and nervous about getting lost, delayed, etc. Has anyone taken this S. Pietro train route and are we likely to make it back in time OK? The private transfers I looked at for family of 4, 1 way from Rome to Port seem to be approx. 150 euros - very expensive compared to train. Other better options? What would you do? Thanks!

  2. Hi, This is my 1st post on CC! I've been researching quite a bit for 1st family cruiseincluding my husband and teenage boys - July - NCL EPIC out of Barcelona. I'm trying to decide what to do on Cannes port day. As we've never been to France, I'm thinking ideally I would like a 1/2 morning guided excursion to venture a bit further out than just staying in Cannes. My husband and boys do not like shopping so I don't think the Flower Market in Nice would appeal but please let me know what else Nice offers. I thought perhaps the cars and yachts in Monaco would catch their attention.

-I found a morning tour via LivenUp that includes Eze & Monaco (including changing of the guards). Mini van for 8. Any feedback on LivenUp and/or this option? Would then explore Cannes in afternoon.

OR I looked at NCL excursion because they get the 1st tenders, Eze & Monaco is 8 hours and more expensive. Any idea why the NCL tour is so long? Also is this a larger bus & bigger group?

OR If anyone knows of a 1/2 day Food focused tour that also might be appealing but I haven't found a $ reasonable one so far. Thanks in advance for input!:):):)
