  1. I am booked for May 3rd, but i will cancel by the deadline. I took my auto gratuities of last week but they were paid with a gift card. I read somewhere that they will mail me a new gift card. anyone know how long that takes, or who i call to check. need that gift card to pay deposit when i rebook.

I'm wondering if anyone else was going to be sailing on Carnival's first day back (hopefully). On a side note, does anyone know what the cruise lines are doing for their crews while the ships are idle? Stay safe everyone!

Not sailing to may 3rd but probably going to cancel. Not sure about Carnival but parents talk to the room attendant from they Panama canal cruise on Facebook and Royal is weathering the 30 days at sea.

I apologize if this has been answered on another thread but if it has, I am unable to find it.  I was trying to book a beach bungalow on CocoCay for November and they are not not listed. Only the Oasis Lagoon Cabanas and Chill Cabana are listed. The bungalows were my favorite because of the quiet location. Looks like it might be difficult to find any quiet beach now!

They are still there may be sold out. Had one when we went at the beginning of this month.

Do we found out that KD Elite provides the shuttle to the port and back. Maybe that explains the cryptic text messages Susan was getting all week, wanting to know if she still needed a pickup at BWI.

Since we were driving, and not flying, she just ignored them.

No problems, we still got on at the hotel. They run 14 passenger Mercedes Sprinters, and ours was full.

It looks like they run different times back from the ship.

so did the hotel price $137 include parking and shuttle both ways?

Without a beverage package they'll want to give you cans as this is considered a better value for the passenger - not diluted or mixed wrong from the tap BUT if you get friendly with bar tenders and ask, I'm sure you can also ask for tap instead of cans, just be prepared for them to offer cans.  I'm sure they'd get far more complaints by just offering soda from the tap but I preferred it as well when I drank sodas so I understand.

This is true. I ordered a coke at the bar on the freedom and he filled a glass from the fountain but when i handed him my card he saw i didn't have package he offered me a can instead said it was a better deal. I think glass of soda was same price as can but it was small and had ice in it. I took the can and just asked for a can next time also. I doubt they would not sell you a fountain soda if you wanted it though, can is just a better deal.

  6. Looking at two cruises same ship and and everything else is the same both 5 nights same ship only difference is one goes to Half Moon and other goes to Princess. The half moon one is $88 more. I have heard good things about Half Moon, is it worth the $88 more to go there instead of princess. Never been to either.

DH and son were bummed there was no cigar lounge on Indy but they used Deck 5 one evening, and that was quiet, we all found a table to sit at with our drinks.  Then they were more bummed by the cigars bought in Costa Maya - they didn't have high hopes at all but these they said weren't even worth the effort to light!

lol thanks yeah they are many treads in my cigar forum about all the fake Cubans in mexico, not worth taking risk and buying cigars there.

I have to say, Deck 5 is a lovely place for a smoke (cigar) and a drink on Grandeur, especially when under way. I'm less excited by doing so up on the pool deck — at night there are many kids there watching movies and so on, which makes me hesitant to smoke (this was a MAJOR issue on Majesty, especially after sailing to Cuba, with many cigar smokers wanting to enjoy their new cigars). I'm going to be on Liberty in June and Anthem in July, and I suspect neither has a cigar lounge — but hopefully, will have a quiet, open, smoking area.

thanks deck 5 will be my spot it seems.

  9. I was spoiled on my last cruise on the freedom with that cigar lounge. Spent almost ever night there and meet some great people. Any one smoke cigars on the Grandeur? It looks like i have to do it on the pool deck. Was wondering if they do the cigar under the sky like on other ships.  Really hoping they may be a regular few guys who smoke at night like there was on freedom. Really wish royal would put back the lounge on there ships.

When you go to book, you get two options for the category "Let us pick your room" or "you pick your room"   If you choose to pick your own room it is usually 100+ more per person....which IMO is insane...

I understand what i am saying is they are giving you a discount if you don't pick your room which is nice of them. IMO :classic_biggrin:

  11. We sailed in May on our last two cruises to the Caribbean and weather was great not to hot. Had some rain. We are sailing again this May out of Baltimore, heard weather in Bermuda may be cooler but not concerned except may not be able to snorkel there,  should be really nice in the Bahamas. Also The not in hurricane season is a big plus and my kids go to year round school so they track out in may. Last cruise there was maybe 60-80 kids total which is nice for them in the kids club, enough kids to make friends and have fun but not crowded and they combined the 6 to 8 and 9 to 11 groups so my kids got to be together.
