WOW Royal Caribbean, just when I thought your website couldn’t possibly get any worse, you go and prove me wrong yet again. I thought it was just a marketing slogan but I’ll give you another one, you’ve earned it... WOW!!!

We are trying to decide between two Royal Caribbean excursions that are about the same price. Would you recommend a bus ride through Kennebunkport with 1 ½ hour stop at Dock Square or visiting 3 Portland area lighthouses (Head Light, Spring Point, Bug Light)? We're just looking to get a feel for the area and see the sights. We were booked on an excursion that went to Kennebunkport with Dock Square and to the Head Light but the time has changed on that excursion so we're exploring new options.
Thanks!

Does anyone know, or is there somewhere to find out, what the dive-in movies are on Carnival Magic in June?

The Fisherman's Plate (Lobster) is on the Jasmine menu and was served on day 5 (Labadee). While this is often the second formal night menu, it was casual on this sailing.
-
Here is the 6 day menu order from the Navigator of the Seas, February 28, 2016 sailing. There was only one formal night.
1. Mojo
2. Saffron - Formal Night
3. Pimiento
4. Basil
5. Jasmine
6. Pomodoro

I've never seen any mosquitoes, but plenty of mojitos...
Like! :D

Has anyone ever seen or had issues with mosquitos onboard while the ship was in port?

We did this for our upcoming Navigator cruise. You can call the rewards number within 14 days of your sailing and verify the OBC has been applied.
Apparently, if you booked online with RCCL, the OBC is viewable in your online reservation within 14 days of the sailing. We used an online TA for this cruise so we can't see the OBC online.
Fingers crossed that the OBC shows up onboard!

Thanks for the information!

We are returning to Vancouver from our Alaska cruise. I have a question about our flight home to Pittsburgh. As US citizens, is it better to fly a US domestic airline and connect through a US city or fly Air Canada and connect through Toronto? Does it make a difference with customs? Price and times are about the same. Unfortunately, there are no nonstop flights between YVR and PIT.

When booking a cruise using your points, how far in advance did you have to book? Were there any issues with availability? Did you upgrade or just go with the "lowest available ocean view/boardwalk view" they offer?
We have enough points for a cruise and starting to look...

It's been 5 weeks since I sent in my renewal application and my check was cashed and no new passport yet. Finally got an email yesterday saying that my application is being processed. Starting to get a little nervous but I'll give them one more week before calling.
Anyways, I recommend getting your passport and paying for the expedited service. You could also look at doing an expedited passport card.

Does anyone have the Western 7 night menu rotation for IOS? I saw the question asked earlier in the thread but didn't see an answer.
Thanks!

We are looking at the specialty restaurants for our upcoming Independence of the Seas cruise to the Western Caribbean and we'd like to know the order of the menus in the MDR so we can better plan which nights we want make our reservations for Chops and Giovanni's Table. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!!!

Does anyone know why only one January sailing is listed for the Liberty of the Seas in January 2016 on the Royal Caribbean website? I noticed one Navigator sailing seemed to be missing and chalked that up to a possible charter but this is 4 sailings in a row...
-
Why can't I find the January 23, 2016 Navigator of the Seas sailing on the Royal Caribbean website?
-
Lasts week we dined in shorts legally at the lawn grill. What a feast!
The other specialty restaurants pale in comparison in enjoyment reminiscences.
:D:D
Did you dine in shorts in the evening or for lunch?

We are looking at the FOS on 1/25/15. Should we be concerned that this might be the first cruise back after dry dock?
On one hand I'm thinking the crew is rested (or getting back to their regular work after 2 weeks of something different) and the ship will be as clean and fresh as it can get.
On the other hand, what if all the work is not completed on time? I wouldn't want to be smelling fresh paint and hearing hammering all week. I recall a TV program where this was an issue (possibly with FOS) when dry docked in the Bahamas.
Does anyone have experience either way?
I see conflicting reports as to whether this is a scheduled dry dock on the boards here. The 1/11/15 and 1/18/15 cruises are not available, some say dry dock and some say charters. Regardless, I'd still like to ask the question even if it ends up not applying to this cruise.

Yes, I know another question. No judgement please lol DH and I are Emerald and we want to use our coupons in the booklet for our drinks the first night (the BOGO and the 10% off or whatever it is) then buy the drink package the second day. Is this possible? Do they allow you to buy the unlimited package on day 2?
I was on the Independence of the Seas January 12-18, 2014. While I was purchasing my drink package (as soon as we boarded the ship), the person next to me asked this same question as the OP. He was told the drink packages were only available for purchase day 1 and day 2, however it was the same price either day. Specifically, the price would not be prorated for one less day if purchased on day 2.
The premium package was $330.03 if purchased on day 1 or day 2. That was different from what I had heard here on the board prior to my departure.

It will be interesting to see how the new tax on alcohol and cigarettes in Texas will affect future cruise ship assignments.

We used this pool http://www.onestepahead.com/Soft-Seat-Baby-Pool.pro?omSource=SLI& when we sailed with my 15mo nephew on the Mariner a few years ago. We borrowed a bucket from the bar and used the shower to fill the pool with fresh water. We'd find lounge chairs back from the pool in a corner so we weren't in the way and we could block him in.
My sister would feed my nephew in the Windjammer before we went to dinner in the MDR. She would take a stroller to dinner. Again we were able to get a table that was out of the way in a corner and it was only our family. The waiter had Jello and a fruit plate at the table for my nephew when we arrived each night. Some nights she ordered him something from the kids menu but most nights he was sleeping in the stroller by the time our entrées arrived.
Have fun!

Are you allowed to bring your own toilet paper on the ship? That could cause issues with the flushing system...

Whale Watching Mazatlan?
in Mexican Riviera
Posted
Can anyone recommend a whale watching excursion in Mazatlan? We’re traveling in February on the Carnival Panorama and will be in port 9:30am-6pm. We already have whale watching excursions booked in Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas.
