  1. Hi all,

We're sailing out of Boston on Friday 8/25. Driving from Syracuse NY we'd like to stay maybe an hour away Thursday night and take car service/shuttle to the pier. I have no interest in driving in Boston (hubby will be recovering from radiation treatments) and disembarkation day is Friday of Labor Day wknd - I assume traffic will be a nightmare.

Does anyone have suggestions for lodging, with parking for the wk and/or transportation svcs?

We've used Yankee Trails multiple times when cruising from NYC but the Boston schedule doesn't work for us.

    Thanks

  2. Congrats to you!

I was able to get the $500 obc for our 8/25 Dawn cruise even though I'm past the final payment deadline. Just booked an OS last Friday and wouldn't you know up pops the substantial obc for suites yesterday. My TA, that I found through ************* thanks to Cruise Critic, was able to beat ncl's price by a lot and she went to bat for the obc after the fact.

    I'm a very happy camper😊

  3. Hi all,

I'm planning a Dawn cruise to Bermuda 8/25. Considering a suite with passengers 3/4 sailing free promo. I know the first two pax receive the UBP at no charge but can anyone tell me whether I need to purchase the soda pkg for the 2 kids that would be pax 3/4?

I'm also wondering if our 10 yr old grandson would be allowed in the kiddie pool area - looks like it's the only pool with slides but I can't tell if it's for really little ones only.

    Thanks for any info.

  4. I'm considering the Oct 23 BA to Bermuda sailing with my 9 yr old grandson.

Looking for opinions on the kids club. He's been on Carnival Glory and Splendor a few yrs ago and found the kids club to be just ok. Since it would be just the two us traveling I don't want him to be bored (even though I'm a young 64 yr old Grandma).

    Thanks for any thoughts

  5. We are arriving the night before our Oct. 24 cruise via Amtrak. Arrival is 9pm so we are looking for relatively (under $200) inexpensive hotel nearby. Since its just a place to rest our heads we dont require anything fancy, only clean and safe.

On a side note does anyone know if taxis are readily available at that station in the evening?

Thanks in advance - so much great info on these boards.

  6. Limoguy,

We are also on the Jan.28 Splendor sailing. This will be our 3rd in 2 years out of NYC, all in Jan. Only driving ourselves 2 hours to Albany then hopping the Yankee Trails Bus direct to the ship and never touching our luggage is the way to go!

6 people in 2 connecting balcony cabins $3 grand total including bus for 8 day vaca cant be beat. Believe me ive tried every which way and its just not worth the hassle of flying.

You will have a great time! And we have had fantastic weather every time so you just never know.

  7. Thanks scubagirrl. We'll be hitting the FishFry and maybe Junkanoo Beach on our way back to the ship so it looks like the baby backpack is the way to go. Do you think this is doable with a 14 month old passenger - his dad is in great shape so he'll be doing the toting!

  8. Looking for advice on taking the jitney to Ardastra Zoo. We're trying to decide if a stroller or baby backpack would be better for this activity. I've been to Nassau a few times but cant remember if many streets are cobblestone and therefore difficult to navigate with stroller.
