  1. Hi there. In Kotor you can find a few excellent tour agencies or private guides and some of them are Mont Travelers Montenegro/Kotor then guides Ana and Dzordz, Dimitri, Marko who are highly recommended by this agency but many others here on cc. On some of their website you can easily find free tour catalogues that then you can use for taking ideas for your own tour. These guys are really creative so go for it and have fun. We did.

Will be stopping in Kotor and Dubrovnik on our Greek Isles and Croatia cruise.  Any shore excursion recommendations for these two stops?

    TIA - Kim

Hi guys, I love both cruise ports and would like to recommend www.monttravelers.com for Kotor tours and www.dubrovniktours.com for Dubrovnik tours. I really enjoyed the company of young and knowledgeable people in Kotor for 6 hours excursion. Luckylu Kotor is the small old town that you can visit even on your own or however in 1.5 hours, it's a walking distance from Kotor port and what is even better the country is so small so in a few hours, you can discover almost one-third of the territory.  Dubrovnik is bigger and in a few hours, we did a panoramic drive around the town and walking tour. Not sure how much time you have for each spot but be sure to see as much as possible and hope you will enjoy as well as we had. Hope this might helpful.

  3. We will be on Emerald next June , and while researching princess excursions so far not impressed with some of the excursions in these ports .

Any suggestions for Salerno. Been to Pompeii so would like more of a comprehensive Almafi COAST TOUR.

how about Kotor , Montenegro. And Corfu and Crete?

Has anyone been left behind from a non ship tour .

Hi, I already recommend Mont Travelers (http://www.monttravelers.com) and Dimitrije as a guide in one of the threads but I will try to say my story again and give you more material for thinking about your day in Kotor :)

Our group had a wonderful tour with Demitrije. We went to the Medieval Fort in Budva and the beautiful drive up to the top of the mountain. There we had a light meal with beer and wine. We had a beautiful drive down the coast, as well. He was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the area. Kotor and the area is one of the most beautiful places on earth. I was very pleased with our tour.

We highly recommend this agency as one of the best we ever had.

  4. We have 1 day in each port on our August cruise (first time in each port). We have 2 children (10 and 7). We are thinking of exploring on our own. Would like to get a feel for the place and maybe enjoy some local cuisine?

    1. What are your must dos in each port?

    2. Are there any places you recommend we visit or stop for a snack/lunch?

    3. How difficult is it to get to the city from the port? Can we walk it? Should we take a taxi? Public transit?

Hi! I want to share my experience with you, might help. We are a couple of Belgians, were in Kotor for few hours only. We can tell you the traditional food is possible to taste only if you go up to Njegusi village with a private tour company or taxi. We can truly recommend Mont Travelers http://www.monttraveles.com. Anyway, we did a 6 hours tour with food tasting and amazing views of Riviera and Boka Bay. After the tour, we did Kotor walking tour on our own, as this town is just 2 minutes walking distance from the port. The town is beautiful but it would be a pity to not see more of Montenegro. The price was reasonable and you can see it on the website. The guide was great. Fun and friendly...

  5. Has anyone taken a tour from Kotor with a guide?

I see many on the forum asking about Montenegro and tour companies, a country of uneven hilly and curvy roads with fantastic views. We also asked my husband and myself, so we sought and shared the experiences of others and decided to contact the Mont Travelers agency we use our website (http://www.monttravelers.com) to find out more about the most attractive places in the country. We were surprised at the speed with which we got the answer and we immediately got a better impression on them. When we arrived in Montenegro we were delighted with the beauty and the knowledge of our guide. The guide was friendly and very proud of his country. After a 4hour tour, we booked another one for September as we are coming to again. Our guide Dijana asked me to write about them. They certainly deserve it, so I decided to give them a strong recommendation. I highly recommend this agency to you for a pleasant stay or day visit in this beautiful country. Their website is useful even though you do not want to book a tour or transfer just to find out more about most see places on one of the pages.
