  1. As the ship is just now sailing we may not have people on CC back yet who can post drink menus.

But I'll hazard to guess they are no different from Oasis or Harmony in each of the bars. You may find some different brands more to European tastes while in the Med though.

Good point - didn't realize the ship was just out for the first time.

Would you know where I can find links to the drink menus, especially the beers & spirits, on the Oasis? Thanks.

  2. I'm on the Zuiderdam next week :)

When I called to book the cruise, about 3 weeks ago I was told then by the HAL agent that the only internet available on the Zuiderdam is blocks of 1,000 minutes for $250. Since then, I've spoken with Ship Services and been advised that that is no longer the case on 3 of the HAL ships so far, including the Zuiderdam. Now these 3 ships (sorry, didn't ask which other ones) have the tiered plans - social $14.99, surf $24.99, premium $29.99 - these are daily rates, and you can use the WiFi on any device, switching back and forth between them/logging in and out. You purchase this on board. I'll confirm this once I'm on board. Thanks!

  3. (bold is mine) You'll probably see crew in there stocking up on personal items and snacks. I remember at one of the ports on our Australia cruise, there was a supermarket within sight of the ship. Lots of crew coming back with grocery bags with things like Doritos visible sticking up from the bag.

That doesn't surprise me a bit - when you 'need' a Dorito, well..... Lol For me I usually 'need' crackers (saltines preferred, or table water, or triscuits), some cheeses for said crackers, plain potato chips, perhaps a chocolate bar..... My first port is Bermuda with 2 sea days before that, and a good number of sea days afterwards.... Let's see if I'm finding a grocery store in Bermuda, or not :)

  4. This has turned into a great thread - thanks everyone :)

It sounds like there will be what I need for any late night snacks - between chocolate covered strawberries, cheeses, salamis, chips, nacho chips, possibly popcorn..... I have decided not to bring any snacks, just bring some zip top bags, and a few smaller disposable plastic boxes with lids, for storage, and see how that goes. If need be, I'll hit the grocery stores in port :)
