The heated seats are in the Thermal Spa area of the Lotus Spa - not the Sanctuary - on some (most?) of the pre-Royal class Princess ships.  Those in full suites have access to the Thermal Spa as a suite perk while cruise long passes can be bought by other passengers (I don't know the price).  The Royal Class ships don't have a Lotus Spa; rather they have a larger area called the Enclave.  Even full suite passengers have to pay to access it.  For more information about both, see https://www.princess.com/news/backgrounders_and_fact_sheets/factsheet/Lotus-Spas-Pamper-Princess-Passengers.html

    Thank you!

Thanks for this great start to a review! We board the Crown mid-December so this is very helpful info 🙂 I'll try and temper my expectations, the last two ships I've cruised on have definitely been more modern, but I cruised on Golden to Alaska back in 2014 so I'll rely on those good memories as to what to look forward to on the Crown!

We are sailing on the Crown on Dec 17th, hope to run into you there. This will be our third time on the Crown

  3. I was in my Cruise Personalizer today & found that water is no longer an option for purchase (12 bottles for $6.90 - which used to be available only for pre-cruise purchase). I thought it might be a web glitch, so I called Princess. They have taken it off the choices and are "working on a new package" to take its place.

I was told "you can bring water onboard" but that doesn't work too well when flying to a port with no access for making that purchase prior to boarding. Also, this was such a nice & easy option (and not overly expensive).

I let her know I was not a happy camper!

Just thought I'd share that with everyone.

Its still available for our cruise? We are leaving out of San Francisco for a 10 day Alaskan cruise.

  4. Our first cruise was on Princess Cruise Lines Crown Princess in 2008. It was a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise. We went to Princess Cays, St Maartin, St Thomas and Grand Turk. We had a great time and since then we have been on 4 more cruises (1 on Carnival with our son, his wife and grandson) and are headed on an 10 day Alaskan cruise on Princess the end of May 2018. We love cruising.

  5. Did you feel seasick at all in the aft balcony rooms? We are considering the upgrade but are concerned we will feel a little too much of the motion of the ocean . . .

We never felt seasick on the back of the ship. My husband did get seasick on the front of the ship. We will not book a forward cabin again because of this
