  1. We were not clear before the cruise about embarking and disembarking procedures, so here's our experience. Hope it helps.

    Embark

Go to zone 6 with purple banner – tell traffic people you need to go there to check in. Genie meets you, gets porter with cart. Genie and porter go in with you, all bags in screener. You are actually subject to more screening than non-Star Class. We had to open almost ever bag because of what they saw...scissors, knife, liquid. They took the knife, which we use in the room for cutting fruit. Luggage appeared 10 minutes after genie took us directly to room, at 12:10.

    Disembark

Genie and bell attendant with luggage cart come to pick you up on the half hour from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm – your choice. You all get off elevator at five, quick right turn to get off ship. Luggage transferred to porter in luggage terminal. Genie brings you right to Customs, leaves you there. Porter waits with luggage and walks you to parking garage. You bring car down, he loads luggage in for you. Pay at credit card machine, save both papers to show as exiting (help with machines is available).

Other notes: two formal nights, night 2 and 6. Genie can arrange three separate tours on last day...galley, back stage and bridge.

  2. Checking in from Anthem. Huge lines to sign up for next cruise because of 50% savings certificate. My last cruise, one agent, right now 5 or 6 and no appt. times left. Weather good, everyone's spirits seem good. Nice to see that two day credit show up on our account. Whatever we don't spend by Wednesday arrival will be refunded to credit card. Illness hasn't hit our attendants or anyone we know. Only dined in Grande and Coastal Kitchen but happy with both.

  3. On the ship now. Food has been great, staff friendly and attentive for the most part. Suite concierge announced we're at OP 3, highest level of protective measures for the virus. Think compensation is adequate, just disappointed because I REALLY wanted to go to Barbados and St. Kitts. Weather right now beautiful - hot and sunny. Most people seem to me to be OK with what Royal has offered IMHO. Staff is cleaning like mad. Are some inconsistencies in preventive measures. For instance, Johnny Rockets still handing out pagers that they call when the food is ready. Don't see them sanitizing each phone, but perhaps they are. Also, can still serve yourself in Windjammer, but we were told that they don't have enough staff (due to illness) to have them serve us. To repeat, it's been a great cruise, just really miss those islands - especially when we in Long Island are slated for 5-8 inches of snow on Friday!

  4. Have one of these booked on Anthem and just read a review by a woman who complained about noise in her cabin (8722). If that's the case I want to cancel...too old to have loud noises at night while I'm trying to sleep ...and paying lots of money! Can anyone confirm that these loft suites on deck 8 get noise from 270??? Thanks so much...I'd really appreciate advice from people who've stayed in these cabins.

  5. Just got my Edocs for March 21st and they list only three of my eight dinner reservations. They are all still on my Order History at My Cruises. Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions as to what I should do? What has me concerned is that the Edoc page says"Onboard Confirmation" which to me indicates that when I get onboard, those other reservations will be gone (as happened to others here). Thanks for any help.
